🚨 JACKSON, WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🚨

We had a situation on Livingston Road in Jackson, Mississippi that needs attention.

A woman experiencing homelessness brought trash and an old mattress onto the street. She initially said she was going to sleep there, but then stated that she wasn’t taking the items with her and was leaving the trash behind.

Now our community is left having to clean it up. 😔

This isn’t about humiliating or attacking anyone. We need real solutions for homelessness AND illegal dumping. We can have compassion for people who are struggling while still holding people accountable for leaving mattresses, garbage, and unwanted belongings in our neighborhoods.

📢 Jackson City Council and the Mayor’s Office — we need your help!

We need a coordinated plan that provides:
✅ Outreach and resources for people experiencing homelessness
✅ Safe places for people to go
✅ Proper disposal options for large items
✅ Enforcement against illegal dumping
✅ Continued cleanup support for our neighborhoods

Our volunteers and community members are willing to help, but we cannot continue paying out of pocket and cleaning up the same problems over and over again.

Jackson is our home. Let’s work together to keep it clean while helping the people who need help. 🙏🏽❤️

😩 THIS REALLY MADE ME THINK…

This morning, a homeless man walked up to my car and asked me for $1. I told him, “You can work for the $1.” His response was, “No, I’m good.”

That moment really stuck with me.

Here in Jackson, Mississippi, we have to start thinking differently about how we address homelessness. 💔

People absolutely need compassion, food, shelter, clothing, and a helping hand—but we also have to provide opportunities, job training, employment, accountability, and a pathway back to independence.

Giving someone something to survive today is important. But teaching someone how to earn, work, and build a better tomorrow is even more powerful. 🙏🏽

I’m not saying everyone who is homeless is unwilling to work. I know there are people struggling with circumstances beyond their control. But when someone is offered an opportunity to work and simply says, “No, I’m good,” it makes you realize that we have a bigger problem we need to address.

We need to stop just managing the problem and start working toward solutions.

Jackson deserves better. Our homeless brothers and sisters deserve better. And our community deserves a real plan that combines compassion + opportunity + accountability.

Let’s talk about solutions—not just symptoms. 🙏🏽❤️

I love people because God loves me. 🙏🏾❤️ My mission is to help where I can, bring awareness to issues affecting our communities, and remind people that everyone deserves compassion, dignity, and respect.

My name is Timothy White, and I’m the founder of The Youth Outreach Company, a nonprofit dedicated to serving our youth and helping strengthen our Jackson, Mississippi community.

We are raising funds to continue our Cleaning Up Jackson initiative. We have been working to clean up properties, remove illegal dumping, trash, and debris, and help restore areas around homes and businesses that have been neglected.

This work is very important to me because I believe we should take pride in our city and leave our neighborhoods better than we found them. We also involve our youth and volunteers so they can learn the importance of community service, responsibility, and giving back.

Funds raised will help pay for workers, dumpsters, trailer rentals, waste and debris disposal, cleanup supplies, equipment, water and other necessities needed to complete these projects.

We have already invested our own time and resources into this mission, but we cannot continue doing it alone. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us keep going.

💔 A HEARTFELT MESSAGE TO OUR COMMUNITY

Good morning, friends, family, and supporters.

It hurts me to say this, but The Youth Outreach Company has to temporarily pause some of the property cleanups we’ve started. We want to keep going, but right now, we simply don’t have enough funding to continue paying workers, renting trailers, and covering trash and debris disposal costs.

Our current expenses include:

🧹 Paying workers to help with the cleanups
🚛 Trailer rental — about $100 per week
🗑️ Waste & debris disposal — about $65 per dumpster

We have already put a lot of our own time, money, and resources into helping clean up Jackson because we believe our city deserves better. But we cannot continue doing it alone.

🙏🏽 WE NEED OUR COMMUNITY’S HELP.

We are asking citizens, businesses, property owners, and community leaders to come together and help us continue this work. We hope the City of Jackson and property owners will also partner with us financially so we can return to these properties and complete the cleanups.
