No single organization can give a founder everything they need. That's the idea behind the partnership between StartUP Gulf Coast and Innovate Mississippi.

StartUP Gulf Coast StartUp Gulf Coast — an initiative of the Gulf Coast Business Council — serves entrepreneurs across Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties, connecting them with resources, education, mentors and investors. Its partnership with Innovate Mississippi extends that reach statewide.

"Innovate Mississippi allows us to plug local founders into that much larger statewide ecosystem," says Executive Director Alexa Cutrer. "While we're the first point of contact, we're not always the people that can help, but we can introduce you to the people who can help."

The momentum is real. StartUP Gulf Coast's pitch competition drew 39 applications this year — roughly double last year's total — and awarded six checks totaling $15,000 during Innovation Week, alongside Gulf Blue programming and the Gulf Coast Business Council's State of the Coast Symposium, which brought together about 600 business professionals and entrepreneurs.

Whether you're working from an idea on the back of a napkin or preparing to raise your next round, there's a door on the Coast and it opens onto the whole state.

Epicenter is seeking innovative startups with an active presence in the Delta region to compete in the DelTech Pitch Competition on October 16.

Selected founders will deliver a five-minute pitch for the chance to win a $5,000 prize, gain visibility, and connect with entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders from across the region.

There is no fee to apply, and selected companies will receive two tickets to attend DelTech.
