Delta Omicron Alpha Military Sorority Inc. Delta Omicron Alpha Military Sorority Inc. is dedicated to the women of the U.S. Armed Forces, past, present, and future. (1 Corinthians 12: 4-14).

We are our sister’s keeper both on and off the battlefield, in and out of the uniform, and through the up’s and down’s of life. Whether active, guard, reserve, or veteran we are all Daughters of the Armed Forces (D.O.A) and we are bonded for life. D.O.A operates under the belief that we all possess gifts that have been bestowed upon us in order to work together as a unified organization. “There ar

e different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them……… Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one”.

According to recent reports, a U.S. Marine expeditionary unit of approximately 2,200 Marines aboard three U.S. Navy amphibious warships has been ordered to head toward the Middle East. The unit involved is the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, which is normally based in Japan and operates in the Indo-Pacific region. Officials say this deployment does not mean the force is being sent to start a ground war, but rather to provide commanders with additional air, sea, and amphibious capabilities if needed. The unit also carries advanced aircraft, including F-35 fighter jets and MV-22 Osprey aircraft, which are often used for rapid response and support missions.

Deployments like this are a reminder of the responsibility carried by the men and women who serve. Behind every uniform is a family waiting, children who miss them, and loved ones hoping for the day they walk back through the door. While the mission may take them far from home, the hope shared by many people is simple — that these service members stay safe, complete their duties, and return home to their families as soon as possible.

Today we keep these Marines and all service members in our thoughts and prayers. May God watch over them, protect them wherever they are sent, and bring them safely back home to the people who love them. 🇺🇸🙏

International Women’s Day is a moment to recognize the strength, dedication, and leadership of women around the world. In the United States, that recognition also extends to the thousands of women who serve in uniform across every branch of the military.

From the flight line to the open sea, from training fields to command centers, women play vital roles in supporting the missions that protect the nation. Their work requires discipline, skill, and commitment. Every day they train, lead, and stand alongside their fellow service members with the same sense of duty and responsibility.

Over the decades, the role of women in the armed forces has continued to grow. Opportunities have expanded, barriers have been challenged, and more women have stepped forward to serve in positions of leadership and expertise across the military.

Behind every uniform is a story of dedication, family support, and a willingness to serve something greater than oneself. On this day, many people take time to recognize that service and the example it sets for future generations.

International Women’s Day is not only about recognition. It is also about respect for the contributions women continue to make in every field, including the defense of the nation.

Today we honor the courage, professionalism, and commitment of America’s women in uniform.

Donald Trump has declined to order the American flag to be lowered for the six U.S. service members killed during Operation Epic Fury — which critics have labeled “Operation Epstein Fury” for its timing during Epsteingate. Their sacrifice, met with a lack of respect from the White House is not a bit shocking. Trump’s former Chief of Staff John Kelly witnessed Trump call fallen soldiers “suckers and losers.”

Meanwhile, Trump did order flags flown at half-staff for Charlie Kirk, a partisan political hack whose “service” is boosting a racist conservative agenda. That’s right: fallen soldiers? No recognition. Political influencer who was loyal to Trump? Full ceremonial honor.

It’s a pattern we’ve come to expect: Trump values optics and loyalty over courage and sacrifice. Our servicemembers, who face danger every day, are sidelined, while those who amplify his brand get the pomp and ceremony they crave.

Flags represent the nation’s collective grief and pride. To ignore soldiers killed in battle while honoring a political ally sends a clear message: Trump’s America honors the famous and ignores the fallen.

Trump also recently declined to lower the flag for civil rights hero Rev. Jesse Jackson, who had a tremendous impact on the advancement of civil rights in America.

Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, a 39-year-old U.S. Army Reserve soldier and mother from Minnesota, was just days away from returning home to her husband and two children when she was killed in a drone strike during the escalating conflict with Iran.

Her husband, Joey Amor, shared the heartbreaking moment he realized something was wrong. They had been texting the night before, talking about a small fall she had taken. Then the next morning… silence.

“She was almost home,” he said through grief.
“You don't go to Kuwait thinking something's going to happen… and for her to be one of the first — it hurts.”

Nicole wasn’t just a soldier. She was a mother who loved gardening, making homemade salsa with her son, and rollerblading with her young daughter. A life filled with simple joys, cut short by war.

Let us pray.

Heavenly Father,
please receive this brave soul into Your eternal peace. Hold Sgt. Nicole Amor close and honor the life she lived in service and love.

Lord, we ask You to wrap Your arms around her husband, her children, and every member of her family whose hearts are now broken. Give them comfort in the long nights ahead and strength in the days when grief feels unbearable.

And God, we pray for this world that continues to send sons and daughters into war. Too many families are left waiting for someone who will never come home. Too many lives are taken before their time.

May leaders find wisdom.
May violence give way to peace.
May no more families have to hear the words that their loved one “was almost home.”

Rest in peace, Sgt. Nicole Amor.
Your service, your love, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🕊️

A Black History Note:

She was dragged through Iraqi streets by her braids. The military forgot her. But her two-year-old daughter was waiting.

Shoshana Johnson just wanted to cook.

At 25, she was broke in El Paso, dreaming of culinary school. The Army offered a solution: cook for soldiers, save money, follow her father's footsteps.

She never imagined she'd become the first Black female prisoner of war in American history. She was shot. Beaten. Captured. Held for 22 days. Forgotten by media.
