Don’t miss the Wyoming premiere of Heart of a Lion at WILD Festival!

📅 September 27th | 🕖 7:00 PM

Join us for a special evening featuring mountain lions on the big screen and a Q+A with some of the creators behind the film. Heart of a Lion is also a 2026 Jackson Wild finalist in the Conservation category — we got a sneak peek into what the filmmakers hope audiences take away from this production:

“I’d like people to see them as affectionate mothers, as males that share food with others, and to understand that they have these rich social lives. In so many ways, they are more similar to the cats that live with us in our homes than most people realize - the only difference is that they can take down animals much larger than themselves.

Ultimately, I want people to see mountain lions as animals worth protecting and to understand just how important they are to the health of our forests. And perhaps most importantly, I want people to accept them as our neighbors and recognize that there is room for both of us on this landscape - that we can learn to live alongside them.”

🌿 Volunteer at the 2026 Nature Media Exchange!

Jackson Wild and Hollywood Climate Summit are hosting the Nature Media Exchange on November 9–10, 2026 in Los Angeles, and we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make it happen.

Join our team and step inside the evolving world of nature and climate storytelling. You’ll work alongside industry professionals, take part in both days of Nature Media Exchange programming with access to sessions, screenings, panels, and keynotes, and connect with the Jackson Wild and Hollywood Climate Summit communities at dedicated networking gatherings and receptions. 

📅 Applications open until September 30
✅ Applicants notified by October 9
🗓️ Volunteer dates: November 8–11 (three 5-hour shifts across load-in/break-down + both event days)

Please note: this program doesn’t cover expenses related to travel, lodging, or meals outside of event-provided ones.

We’re excited to share that YANUNI (Yanuni) — winner of the Grand Teton Award and Feature Category at the 2025 Jackson Wild Media Awards — is now available on YouTube, starting today on Amazon Day!

Directed by Richard Ladkani and co-produced by and Juma Xipaia, YANUNI follows Indigenous leader Juma Xipaia and the daily lives of the peoples fighting to defend the Amazon. Alongside her husband, Hugo Loss, an environmental agent leading high-risk operations against illegal gold mining, Juma confronts politics, threats, and the onset of motherhood, all while bearing the personal cost of standing on the front lines of the resistance.
