Last week during AI Month, we hosted our OATS AI Scavenger Hunt, giving older adults an opportunity to explore artificial intelligence in a fun, hands-on, and supportive environment.

Participants completed interactive challenges, explored real-world AI tools, and learned practical ways technology can assist with everyday tasks—from finding information to staying connected with family and friends.

One of the highlights of AI Month has been creating spaces where people of all ages can engage with emerging technology with confidence and curiosity. It was inspiring to see participants embrace new tools, ask thoughtful questions, and discover how AI can be a helpful resource in their daily lives.

That’s a wrap on Week 3 of AI Month! 🎉

This week, adults 55+ stepped into the world of AI through a fun, interactive scavenger hunt led by our OATS Program Director, Erica Archie.From teamwork and problem-solving to discovering real-world AI tools, participants proved that learning has no age limit.

At The Bean Path, we believe everyone deserves access to the future—including our seniors. Seeing participants who were once nervous about technology encourage one another, solve problems together, and embrace AI with confidence was a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to learn something new.

Last week, Southern Spark 2026 brought together educators, entrepreneurs, technologists, policymakers, students, and community leaders from across the region for three days of learning, collaboration, and conversation.

As part of AI Month, attendees explored how artificial intelligence is being applied in real-world settings—from education and workforce development to entrepreneurship, business, and community impact. More importantly, they left with practical tools, new connections, and fresh ideas they can take back to their classrooms, workplaces, and communities.

What made Southern Spark special wasn't just the conversations about technology—it was the people committed to using it to create meaningful change across the South.

Thank you to every speaker, partner, volunteer, and attendee who helped make Southern Spark 2026 a success. We're excited to see how the ideas, partnerships, and momentum from last week continue to grow.

From Southern Spark to AI Afterhours, it was a week full of learning, connection, and conversations about what's next for Mississippi.

We welcomed entrepreneurs, educators, business leaders, creatives, technologists, and community members who came together to explore the opportunities AI is creating across industries and communities. The discussions were insightful, the connections were meaningful, and the energy was undeniable.
