📜✨ Happy World Poetry Day! ✨📜 Today we celebrate World Poetry Day, recognized by UNESCO, and the power of words to connect, inspire, and reflect who we are. Here in Amador County, poetry has deep roots — from our rich history of literary artists to our Poet Laureate program, established in 2018 and still unfunded, sustained by passion, not pay. Join us as we honor these Amador County Poet Laureates: Kat Everitt, Deja Douglas, and Margaret Lewis. All of our poets give voice to this place we call home.

March is Youth Arts Month & Arts Education Month, a national celebration of the visual arts and the incredible creativity of young artists in our community.

Throughout the month, student exhibitions, public art displays, art festivals, and school events shine a spotlight on the importance of arts education. These events help raise awareness and build support for the visual arts among local and state education officials, business and community leaders, and state and federal legislators.

The arts empower students to think critically, express themselves confidently, and engage more deeply with the world around them. Join us in celebrating the talent, imagination, and hard work of our youth artists this March.
