In celebration of triple bottom line businesses, we want to share an upcoming event on Tuesday June 30th at The Virginian hosted by one of our community caretaker sponsors, KHOL.

David Gelles, New York Times climate reporter and author of “Dirtbag Billionaire,” chronicles the life of Yvon Chouinard, the founder of Patagonia, detailing his journey from a dirtbag climber to a billionaire who ultimately gave away his company and its profits to fight climate change. The book explores how Chouinard built a billion-dollar brand known for environmental activism, his complex relationship with capitalism and his radical decision to transfer ownership to a trust to redirect profits to environmental causes, challenging traditional business models. This talk will be moderated by Christian Beckwith, founder of the Teton Climbers Coalition and Alpinist Magazine.

Exciting news...Four Jackson entrepreneurs who cut their teeth through Silicon Couloir's programs—from Pitch Day to mentoring—are now funding the next generation. Karissa Akin (Iksplor), Carli Sapir (Amboy Street Ventures), Kevin Deneen (Moterra Campervans), and George Haaland (Valley Rock Capital) have joined a new Rising Trustee tier, built for emerging business leaders who want to support the startup ecosystem without the institutional commitment of traditional trustees. The addition of this introductory tier to the trustee circle represents the cycle Silicon Couloir has been striving to build for more than a decade.
