The ARTS ALIVE DOWNTOWN JACKSON FINE ARTS AND CRAFTS FESTIVAL (Arts Alive!) is a free, public Fine Arts, Crafts and Music Festival to be held in and around Smith Park in the City of Jackson, Mississippi on Friday, May 13 2011 from 10:00am-6:00pm and Saturday, May 14 2011 from 10:00am-6:00pm. is to promote and celebrate central Mississippi’s creative and performing artists while providing an inclus

ive cultural and educational experience that enriches the lives of all who participate as they assist with the continuing revitalization of Downtown Jackson. Andrew, and Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church, along with City of Jackson (Department of Human and Cultural Services), Downtown Partners, and in partnership with many Fine Arts organizations including The Mississippi Museum of Art, Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Mississippi, Mississippi Opera, Smith Robertson Museum and Cultural Center, the Jackson Municipal Art Gallery, VSA Arts of Mississippi, and The Crossroads Film Festival. Those partnering in Arts Alive! will provide information, entertainment and experiences in and around Smith Park and its environs on both Friday and Saturday. Arts and Crafts vendors will exhibit and sell their creations. Food vendors from a variety of Jackson eateries will provide food for sale and may offer samples for promotion. A broad and diverse range of performers, both groups and individuals, will present concert and interactive performances throughout both days. Audiences and patrons will enjoy professionals and amateurs, civic, private, church, collegiate, as well as public school ensembles. is an important collaborative event that demonstrates the best of Mississippi’s creative heritage and resources – its People – as it furthers the causes of a revitalized Downtown Jackson, the promotion and propagation of all Creative & Performing Arts, and the enrichment and education of the entire Community, particularly children and young people. also helps to provide continuing, valuable services to those among us who need them the most by donating all proceeds generated by the festival. In 2011, the beneficiary organization is Stewpot of Jackson. The Arts benefit everyone! We hope that you will support this year’s Arts Alive!
