Once again, the Therapy & Learning Center is growing! And we believe there’s no better place to spend your workdays than TLC...where you can make a real difference in the lives of children and families, work alongside an incredible team, and have a little fun while you’re doing it.

At TLC, we’re passionate about providing compassionate, individualized, highly skilled pediatric therapy in a clinic or school setting where the environment is supportive, collaborative, fun and flexible...because if you are working with kids you need to be a little bendable! We are so proud of our very own Barbara Meussner, OT and Clinic Therapy Manager, for being awarded the “Lift as you Climb Award” by Tennessee Occupational Therapy Association.

She was given this award for her 36 years of OT service in consistently creating opportunities for others to find their confidence, discover their potential, and step into leadership. As Barb says, “I lift them, and they lift me.” This award is no shock to us at the Therapy & Learning Center who work alongside Barb each day. She is passionate about believing in others and pushing them to live out their potential no matter how small the world may see the gains. She makes a way when others either can’t see the way, or don’t want to go the extra mile to find the way!

Becoming a mother for the first time can feel overwhelming. When developmental challenges are added, the unknown can feel even heavier. That's where our team of Early Intervention Developmental Therapists don't just throw a life preserver out to the caregiver that feels like they are drowning, they get in the boat and start rowing with them navigating a better path.

For four years, one of our TLC Developmental Therapists listened, offered guidance, celebrated every win and walked beside this mother and her son. At their final early intervention session, she wrote, “You helped me personally as much as you have helped G.”
That is the heart of Early Intervention: helping children grow developmentally while giving parents the confidence, support and encouragement they need along the way.

These hot days still lingering on have us thinking of our TLC Summer Splash Day! Here are a few photos from that fun, cooler day that our staff, patients and families had a splashing good time enjoying!

Thank you to everyone that donated to this cause! Due to your generosity, we were able to rent some great water slides and volleyball court/shallow pool from Bounce Hub that we know made this the best summer day at TLC yet!
