Public Land for private benefit? We hope not.

The BCC will consider the Nelson Housing Project: Tue Feb. 3, @ 9a.m.

Join JHCA in asking that if the BCC chooses to fund this project, they condition all CHT units to prioritize Forest Service employees, with secondary preferences to other local public employees.

Since 1979, JHCA has worked to keep Jackson Hole wild through advocacy. Our approach is practical, data-driven, and rooted in the belief that coexistence is possible when we plan wisely.

Your gift today ensures that tomorrow, Teton County will remain a home to thriving wildlife, protected wild places, and responsible planning.

Wildlife is on the move!

Moose, elk, and deer are migrating to their winter ranges. Crepuscular* species travel at dawn and dusk and often need to cross the road.

Stay alert, slow down, and use your high beams.

*Crepuscular: events related to or occurring during twilight (morning and evening hours).

🐾 Wildlife Wins in Wilson! 🐾

Since four new wildlife underpasses opened at the HWY 22/390 intersection in July, motion cameras are already capturing moose, elk, mule deer, foxes, raccoons, and even a young bear! 🦌🐻

Most exciting of all? Family groups — moms with calves and fawns — showing the next generation where it’s safe to cross. These crossings protect both wildlife and drivers from dangerous collisions, especially with moose.

✨ It’s a big milestone for conservation and public safety, but the true impact will take years to measure. For now, we celebrate this win for wildlife and our community! 🌲🚗

Thanks to Teton County staff, WYDOT and WY Game and Fish for the great work and collaboration on this project!

EVENTS 🔗in bio

The USFS has begun revising the Bridger-Teton National Forest Plan—a blueprint that will guide the land management of 3.4 million acres of public land for decades to come. If you live in Wyoming, this is your backyard.

In July, the USFS released a Draft Assessment. We have a critical opportunity to influence the planning process and respond to this assessment.

Join JHCA and attend the BTNF Open House in Wilson on August 12 to learn more and ask questions.

Join us:
📍685 S Cache St
Monday, 09/16 @ 4:30pm

We will work together to craft impactful and clear comments, then read them aloud at the Town Council Meeting at 6pm!

The Town Council has not considered the dozens of letters written to date. So it’s time to show up in person. 📣

The big building moratorium, Ordinance 1373, must be extended beyond November to give adequate time to fulfill its initial goal of examining “the environmental, infrastructure, and traffic generation” of large commercial buildings. Urge Town Councilors to extend the moratorium, so they can adequately consider all the issues, not just building size!

RSVP so we can make sure to have enough pizza and pencils.✏️ 🍕
