Thank you to everyone who came out to the JCC Open at Panera Bread. We truly appreciate your participation, and the level of play was excellent.

We had a three-way tie for first place in the Open division, with Charles Herbers, Michael Roberson, and Faron Miller all finishing with 3/4.

In the U1501 division, Jerika Eppel took home first place with 3.5/4, followed by Costel Ghimpu in second and Jacob Vann in third.

Congratulations to all of our top finishers in both the Open and U1501 divisions!

Hey all apologies for not getting these photos out sooner. Here is a photo dump of all the pictures taken from the beginning of the year club meetups on Thursday night.

Friendly Reminder we meet every Thursday with casual play starting around 5pm. We will then start a rated tournament at 6pm till close and it will only cost $1 to play in the tournament, as long as you have a USCF membership.

Update on Thursday Night Tournaments

Perkins has let us know they’ll now be closing at 9:00 PM instead of 10:00 PM. To make sure we can still fit in the same number of games, we’ll be starting tournaments at 6:00 PM going forward.

Remember, these tournaments are open to anyone with a current USCF ID, and they’re super flexible—you don’t have to play the whole night. Feel free to jump in for the first few rounds and head out early, or come later and catch the last games. These games are typically G15+5, with rounds starting around 6:00 PM, 6:45 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:15 PM. Times may shift a little if earlier rounds finish ahead of schedule.
