Today 🎯 is the last day to give during 👟 Old Bill’s Giving Season.

Here’s what we believe at Voices: belonging is something we build 💜 together. We’re not a direct-service organization. We build relationships, and we believe relationships and social capital are what actually move a community forward.

That belief is what turns a first conversation into a board seat, a ✍️ survey into real policy input, an idea into a business with your name on the 🚪door. It’s slow work, and it’s the work that creates systems change for multicultural communities here in Jackson.

This 🗓️ year, 220 people stepped into rooms where Jackson Hole’s future gets decided. 68 leaders moved through our Development pipeline, from finding their voice to holding a seat at the table. 5 new business owners built financial futures for their families.

And that’s just what happened in these numbers. Across our network, Voices now connects 7️⃣7️⃣5️⃣ households, representing 25 nationalities and 21 languages, all working toward the same thing: a Teton region where multicultural families live at the 💚 heart of this community, not at its margins.

Este 🗓️ año, 220 personas se sumaron a espacios donde se decide el futuro de Jackson Hole. 68 líderes avanzaron por nuestro programa de Development, desde encontrar su voz hasta ocupar un lugar en la mesa. 5 nuevos dueños de negocio construyeron un futuro financiero para sus familias.

“As an immigrant Latina, people who look or talk like me have not always been represented at these tables or included in these decisions, so I want to be brave before being strong, wise before showing up, and intentional about creating space for others to be there too,” says Antuanett Lopez Sani, a participant in Voices’ Leadership Fund.

Antuanett came to Jackson ⛰️ knowing hardly anyone, but carrying dreams and doubts in equal measure. She found Voices through the Latine Professionals Network, and later, through participating in the Leadership Fund, found something more: the 💚 support, connection, and trust to step into community leadership.

“Como inmigrante latina, las personas que se ven o hablan como yo no siempre han sido representadas en estas mesas ni incluidas en estas decisiones, así que quiero ser valiente antes de ser fuerte, sabia antes de presentarme, e intencional en crear espacio para que otros también puedan estar ahí,” dice Antuanett Lopez Sani, participante del Leadership Fund de Voices.

This is Elisa Ayala-Nalley, who just opened the doors to Robin’s, a 🍳 breakfast, lunch, and coffee spot on West Broadway named after her 19-month-old son. It’s Mexican fusion done her way – enchiladas alongside a 🥪 BLT, because a menu that reflects this community means room for everyone at the table.

Elisa is also a new Voices member, and that work has changed how she sees her own place here. Not just a Mexican woman living in Jackson. A person who belongs to Jackson. That feeling ✨ is what gave her the confidence to put her name on a door and open a business in the place she calls home.

This is entrepreneurship 🌺

Ella es Elisa Ayala-Nalley, quien acaba de abrir las puertas de Robin’s, un lugar de 🍳desayunos, comidas y café en West Broadway, nombrado así por su hijo de 19 meses. Es fusión mexicana a su manera – enchiladas junto a un 🥪 BLT, porque un menú que refleja a esta comunidad significa lugar para todos en la mesa.

Owning a business changes what’s possible for an immigrant family.

This year, Voices helped 5️⃣ multicultural leaders apply for their own LLCs, opening the 🚪door to business ownership for people who might not have otherwise known where to start. It’s part of our leadership pipeline’s focus on financial wellbeing – because for so many immigrant families, building a business is one of the clearest paths to financial stability.

Este año, Voices ayudó a 5️⃣ líderes multiculturales a solicitar sus propias LLC, abriendo la puerta 🚪a tener su propio negocio para personas que quizás no sabían por dónde empezar. “I heard from the community that they hope local authorities can improve the quality and potability of our water,” says Johanna Moreno, one of the organizers working to support Protect Our Waters’ recent 📝 survey.

This spring, Voices partnered with 💦 Protect Our Waters, a local nonprofit working toward clean water now and for future generations, to make sure multicultural voices were part of that process. Together, we gathered feedback from 1️⃣3️⃣3️⃣ community members on the water issues that matter most to them.

This is what partnership looks like: two organizations, one shared goal, and 1️⃣3️⃣3️⃣ more voices 📣 in the conversation.

“Escuché de la comunidad que esperan que las autoridades locales hagan buen uso de nuestros recursos para mejorar la calidad y la potabilidad de nuestra agua,” dice Johanna Moreno, una de las organizadoras que apoyó con la recolección de datos para la reciente 📝 encuesta de Protect Our Waters.
