There's just something about horses.

Maybe it's the excitement of meeting one for the first time. Maybe it's the feeling of climbing into the saddle and trying something new. Maybe it's the quiet moments spent caring for and connecting with an animal.

Regardless the reason, at Camp Catch-A-Rainbow, horseback riding is more than an activity. It's another opportunity to explore, build confidence, make memories and have a little fun along the way.

Camp Catch-A-Rainbow isn't just about the activities. It's about the small moments we get to cherish together.

A hug around the campfire. A paddleboard adventure with a less-than-impressed friend. The excitement of celebrating the biggest accomplishment on the planet (collecting every rubber duck before the sun rises).

These are the moments that become camp memories that last far beyond a bullseye or reaching the top of the rock wall.

That's what makes Camp Catch-A-Rainbow so special.

There's still time to join us for Family Weekend!

Camp Catch-A-Rainbow Family Weekend is October 16–18, and registration is still open! Lodge accommodations are full, but cabins are still available. You're welcome to stay for the entire weekend or just come out for all of the activities on Saturday.

Have you heard about the film Sunny Dancer?

The movie is about a pediatric oncology camp, and honestly, it captures so much of what we see at Camp Catch-A-Rainbow every summer.

Kids who have been through some incredibly difficult things get to come to camp and just be kids. They make friends, laugh, try things they’ve never done before, get a little silly, and make memories that have nothing to do with cancer. There can be a lot of hard things happening in their lives, but camp gives them a place where joy and friendship get to take center stage for a while.

That’s what makes oncology camps so special, and it’s pretty amazing to see that experience being shared through a movie.

We’re also really thankful for our friends at Care Camps Foundation, whose support helps make these experiences possible for our campers each summer.

If you get a chance to see Sunny Dancer, check it out! And while you’re watching, you might recognize a little bit of the magic that happens at Camp Catch-A-Rainbow, too.
