With the Tetons dusted in snow, we're reminiscing about summers past. ❄️🏔️

A few summers ago, we partnered with Grand Teton Music Festival for a sold-out screening of Meru to celebrate filmmaker, climber, and photographer Jimmy Chin.

The evening included a special moment as Harrison Ford presented Jimmy with JHIFF's True Grit Award, recognizing his courage, determination, and contributions to storytelling.

Fall is art season in Jackson Hole, and while the festivals are wrapping up, we're thinking back to one of our favorite JHIFF 2025 screenings.

Artists in Residence tells the story of three female artists who bought a home together in 1950s New York City, challenged societal expectations, and chose to prioritize their creative lives. Through conversations with the women, now in their 90s, and their grown children, the documentary explores the complexities of balancing art, family, and personal ambition.

We were excited to spend time with our friends at the Hamptons International Film Festival HamptonsFilm and catch their Opening Night Film a I PLAY ROCKY I Play Rocky

Directed by Oscar winner Peter Farrell, the film tells the true story of an unknown actor with an unshakable belief that he wasn’t just meant to write Rocky, he was meant to be Rocky Balboa.

It was especially exciting to hear from Anthony Ippolito, who stars as Sylvester Stallone. 🥊

A film festival weekend looks a little different in Jackson Hole.

Start the day outside, grab something good in town, settle in for an afternoon of films, and end the night talking about what you just watched.

Make a trip of it. ✨

Some films stick with us (and rock with us) long after the festival ends.

If These Walls Could Rock is one of them. Previously featured at JHIFF, the film takes audiences inside legendary music venues and the stories, artists, and communities that made them matter.

If you missed it at the festival—or want to watch it again—you can now find If These Walls Could Rock on Apple TV, Prime Video, or ifthesewallscouldrock.com.

Around here, après isn’t just for skiing.

At JHIFF, when the credits roll, the night keeps going. Après Film brings filmmakers, audiences, friends, and neighbors together to talk about what they just watched, trade perspectives, and keep the conversation going. 🚡

Because sometimes the best part of a film is everything you talk about afterward.

Old Bill's ends today, and we’ve been thinking about what it means to make a film festival here in Jackson Hole.

It means bringing filmmakers and audiences together in a mountain town with a long history of film and storytelling. It means creating a place for new ideas, unexpected conversations, and stories you might not otherwise get the chance to see.

If you’ve already given, thank you. If you’ve been meaning to, today is the day.

Old Bill’s Fun Run giving closes today, September 18.

Jackson Hole has been telling stories on screen for more than a century.

From The Cowboy and the Lady, Jackson Hole’s first feature film in 1922, to The Big Trail, Shane, Spencer’s Mountain, The Mountain Men, and Any Which Way You Can, filmmakers have long looked to the Tetons and this community as a setting for stories of the American West.

Perhaps most famously, Shane brought the valley and the Tetons to audiences worldwide, with scenes filmed around Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park.

That filmmaking and storytelling tradition continues today. JHIFF is proud to be part of the next chapter. Film has a history here. And many more stories remain to be told.

A New York writer inherits a 150-pound Great Dane. That’s where The Friend begins.

Directed by Scott McGehee and David Siegel, the film offers a thoughtful look at friendship, loss, and the unexpected ways we move forward.

Scott and David joined us at JHIFF 2024 to share the film along with star Bill Murray. Today, the longtime collaborators are continuing their work through Big Creek Projects. Their latest project is The Man I Love, directed by Ira Sachs, which premiered in competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
