Teton County Victim Services

Teton County Victim Services We help all victims of reported crime. Teton County Victim Services is jointly funded by Teton County and the Town of Jackson.

What can Victim Services do for you?

- Crisis Intervention and Follow Up Contact:
We provide support and reassurance to assist with the emotional,
psychological, and financial trauma of a crime.

-Emergency Assistance:
We meet a victim’s immediate needs by providing food, clothing, and shelter.

-Referral Counseling:
We guide victims to appropriate mental health service providers for assis

tance.

-Criminal Justice System Information:
We help victims understand the criminal justice system and victim rights, provide case information, and can accompany victims to court.

-Restitution:
We assist in obtaining court ordered restitution from convicted offenders for expenses related to the crime.

-Security Repairs:
We replace locks, windows, and other necessities to ensure safety.

-Advocacy:
We act on the victim’s behalf to secure his or her rights in the Criminal Justice System.

-Other Assistance and Services as Needed:
We provide child care, transportation, employer intervention, creditor intervention, and referrals to other community resources.

-Crime Victim Compensation:
We assist with application for Crime Victim Compensation to offset losses related to the crime.

-Impact Statements:
We ensure that the court receives input as to the impact the crime has had upon the victim. Statements can be given in writing or at the time of sentencing and are also included in the presentence investigation (PSI). Teton County is partly funded by the Wyoming Office of the Attorney General, Division of Victim Services.

This month, Teton County Victim Services wants to highlight the National Elder Fraud Hotline. Experienced hotline case managers are standing by to provide victims of financial fraud aged 60 or older with personalized support to assess their needs and identify relevant next steps. Call the National Elder Fraud Hotline at 833-FRAUD-11 (833-372-8311) from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. eastern time, Monday through Friday.
