936 pairs…and we’re STILL counting. πŸ‘ŸπŸ’œ
When we launched this year’s Soles for Survivors Shoe Drive, we set a goal of collecting 1,000 pairs of shoes.
And y’all…we are getting SO close. πŸ₯Ή
Right now, 936 pairs have been counted, bagged, and packed. And there are still MORE shoes waiting to be counted.
So while we count shoes, we’re also counting our blessings. πŸ™ŒπŸΎ
Every person who cleaned out a closet.
Every business and organization that hosted a box.
Every group that rallied its members.
Every person who shared a post, told a friend, or showed up with a bag of shoes.
YOU did this.
We don't have the final number just yet, but one thing we already know for sure:
Soles for Survivors 2026 was a SUCCESS. πŸ‘ŸπŸ’œ
Final count coming soon… πŸ‘€

As we move forward towards Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October, MCADV is honored to share a meaningful opportunity to remember those whose lives were lost to domestic violence and to create space for reflection, healing, and community.

Our 3 Memorial Foundation Inc. presents the Opening Reception for Breaking the Silence, a memorial project honoring Mississippians lost to domestic violence.

Through art, remembrance, and shared reflection, this project invites our community to honor lives, acknowledge the impact of domestic violence, and continue breaking the silence that too often surrounds it.

Some of our most important work doesn't come with a photo. πŸ’œ

This month, Our 3 Memorial Foundation had the privilege of standing alongside two survivors of domestic violence as they navigated the court system. Both were successful in securing protection orders.

This is why advocacy matters.

You won't see pictures from these moments, and that's intentional.

At Our 3, survivor safety and confidentiality will always come before content. We don't believe a survivor should have to sacrifice their privacy in order for their story or the work being done on their behalf to be recognized.

But that doesn't mean we shouldn't talk about the work.

Court advocacy can mean helping a survivor understand the process, preparing them for what to expect, standing beside them as they navigate an intimidating system, helping them identify resources, and making sure they know they don't have to navigate it alone.

And sometimes, advocacy means simply being there when someone is afraid.

We may not always be able to show you the work.

But we're doing it.

And this month, two survivors walked away with an additional layer of legal protection as they continue their journeys toward safety and stability.

That's worth celebrating. πŸ’œ

This is what it means to EDUCATE. EQUIP. EMPOWER.
