Attention everyone!
My friend, business partner, and member of Respect Your Black Dollars , Maria WillisMaria Willis was wrongfully taken into custody by the Yazoo City Police Dept this afternoon.
She is wrongfully being accused and charged with FELONY KIDNAPPING, impending an investigation, and several other bogus charges related to A MISSING DOG! Yeah y’all heard that right A DOG! The dog was found at a pound in Clinton, Ms but Maria is STILL being detained!
Here’s the back story:
A man pulled up to the private property she lives on (I’m currently residing here as well). The man accused her of taking his dog, even going as far as to question contractors that were working in the yard at the time. He became loud and erratic towards Maria and her husband after it was told to him that his dog was not inside the dwelling. The altercation escalated to the point that it had to be ended with guns being pulled on the aggressor, as again I mention he was trespassing on private property and acting aggressively, without any proof to support himself and without the police!
A few hours later he returns with the police and they asked if they could search the home. They were given permission but refused to walk in due to the amount of dogs in Maria’s home (she’s a profession dog groomer and regularly houses many dogs including abused strays at times)! So as an alternative they asked to see all the dogs in the home and each dog was brought out one by one! They didn’t find the dog so they left for the night!
The following morning (today) the CHIEF of the Yazoo City Police Department came by the house WITH THE ACCUSER AND ANOTHER CIVILIAN and asked if he could perform an “off the records” search of the home (illegally with out a warrant). I answered the door and was told that if I don’t let him in he’d get a search warrant to enter. My response to him was and I state “Well if we’re going to do this, let’s do it the RIGHT way by getting the warrant”, I wasn’t going to let him in because Maria wasn’t there. He called for back up and two police officers pulled up in separate trucks.
The Chief and these two other officers camped out side for hours (we missed breakfast and lunch because we sat out to make sure they weren’t doing anything ELSE illegal). The CHEIF walked back up to me an additional time with one of the new officers attempting to pressure me into letting them in the house illegally, and attempting to threaten me and everyone in the house with FELONY KIDNAPPING! At this point I asked for their business cards and they refused to give me one.
After the last attempted fail to illegally get into the house they returned back to the side of the yard where their cars were and camped there for hours attempting to get a warrant over the phone from a judge! Maria returned home and all the officers immediately rushed her and started throwing questions at her! Within 3 minutes they cuffed Maria and put her in the police car (they DID NOT read her any rights), they even ran my name and ID illegally for warrants with the chief saying he didn’t believe me when I told him my name was Kalif but right ok.
By this time Maria’s husband William enters the conversation and the police began to aggressively haggle him about the where abouts of the missing dog, mind you the accuser is parked at the edge of the driveway with another person in a separate car that had no tags this whole time and even gets in on the conversation because he recognizes will from “school”.
They continue to haggle Will about the whereabouts of the dog and after he reconfirmed that the dog is not in the dwelling the chief instructs the other police take Maria down town!
Shortly after the chief asks Will if he can enter the house without a warrant and will give him permission, to which he responded by getting in his truck and AGAIN refusing to perform the search!
Maria called us from the Yazoo City police department and we can hear them continuing to hassle her WHILE SHE IS ON THE PHONE! Not only that, they MAKE HER LOCATE THE DOG! Will and Maria (while on three way) called dog shelters for hours looking the dog! It was finally found and the owner went to verify the dog and it was returned to him. So the question was why was Maria not released! After some hours Will goes to the station and is informed that she can’t be released but will “possibly” get a chance to be let out if her paperwork is not filed before 6 pm the follow day (tomorrow), which is completely unacceptable!
The accuser pressed no charges but the Chief is attempting to charge her with impeding an ingestion, lying to a police officer, and another charge associated with pulling the weapon a gun the person who trespassed her private owned property saying she had to presidencies to pull a gun, even tho she was being aggressively cursed and also had her life threatened by the accused!
This is not ok, is this the justice system of Yazoo City, Mississippi and the Yazoo City of Police Dept to manipulate and harass citizens to further investigations? Is this what the people of Yazoo City & County Mississippi have been governed by, favoritism, malpractices, fear tactics and dishonesty?
I won’t stand for it.
My team won’t stand for this.
Yazoo City, Mississippi should not stand for this!
We will see a change!
