Over the last several months and as we emerge from Covid shutdowns, we have spent much time in reevaluating our Faire and Nonprofit. Not having a faire in 2020 really set us back and then to face capacity and infrastructure restrictions for early 2021 left us in a bind for planning our signature fundraising event with a very limited calander window later in 2021 to hold our event.

We believe in what we are doing, the issues we have is funding! Property for an event limits us with infrastructure prohibitions or cost inhibitions with just enough leeway to cover costs. Breaking even is NOT an option. The entire concept of Pendragon's Faire is to be the primary fundraiser for Olde World Village. Breaking even is not fundraising. We strive for better!

What we have been doing is searching for property in South East Ohio to house Olde World Village as well as play host to Pendragon's Faire and our many other fundraising uses of the property. It is our goal to be self sustainable while building a community and nurturing what we have by being good stewards to our planet, history, community and events

We found the perfect piece of ground that would serve our purposes but it is financially out of our grasp. We searched in different areas with different terrains but have come back several times to the perfect piece as it is literally perfect in everyway except price!

While at this current time we cannot disclose this location, we will say that the parcel is over 490 acres with many improvements, pastures, wooded areas and easy highways access. However, the price is in the millions! We have found several others that are more within reach but have limitations and will cost just as much to develop in the longrun. Such a high purchase price prevents us from a traditional mortgage as the payments would be tremendously high with constant strain on budgets and functionality.

The optimist in each of us, says we will have that ground! The optimist in each of us says We WILL have that ground! We will build our Village there!

We will be launching several fundraising campaigns in order to outright purchase this property in order to fund the following:

Outright Land Purchase
Infrastructure improvements
Sewage Plant Construction
Utility Distribution Network
Historical Village Visitors Center
Faire Village Front Gate
Licensing/Permits
Establishing Sustainability Trust.

These projects are in no particular order except the Land purchase. We believe that as we launch our fundraising campaign we set the goal for the perfect property and if it is sold or not available,, then we find another! We work diligently towards our goals!

The plague seems to be tapering off. Restrictions are being lifted, vaccines distributed and it appears that a resumption to events with less and less modifications every week or two is possible.

As everyone knows, we had to cancel last year. The world pretty much stopped. This year we have been faced with trying to decide to scheduoe and plan an event with few funds that may have had to fall under several restrictions and meet with the approval of health officials. As of June 2, 2021 all restrictions in Ohio will be lifted! This is good news, but leaves us in position of no plans, no site, no faire.

We did have a prospect for doing a 1 day event in August, however that is still a little uncertain at this time due to insurance and specific regulations that govern the site. It was to be held at a local Meadery. The insurance issues were covid related and we may now revisit this idea.

Now for some better news.

We have been on the search for the perfectly Ideal acreage to build Olde World Village and Pendragon's Faire. We have looked at 15+ parcels ranging from 50 acres to over 500 acres. Every parcel that intrigues us seems so out of reach financially, so we will be hosting a series of fundraising events, Pendragon's STYLE! Currently we are looking at an Amatuer Open Invitation Poker Tournament that will have a payout over $10,000! We are working on Pendragon's Sideshow! There are a few other events we are working on as well that we just are not ready to mention.

We are are also recruiting our member to Join the nonprofit.
