đź’™ District 5 Strong đź’™

From service to leadership, mentorship to advocacy, District V continues to exemplify what it means to answer the call of nursing with excellence, compassion, and unity. Through every patient touched, every community served, and every nurse empowered, we proudly represent the mission and legacy of Eliza Pillars Registered Nurses of Mississippi.

“Nursing is more than a profession — it is a calling.” Today we celebrate the dedicated nurses of District V who lead with heart, serve with integrity, and uplift one another through every season.

As EPRNM continues moving forward together, District V remains committed to scholarship, sisterhood, service, and strengthening the future of nursing across Mississippi.

To all the mothers on this Mother’s Day — We celebrate each of you for the love, strength, sacrifice, wisdom, and nurturing spirit you pour into your families and everyone around you. A mother’s influence is one of God’s greatest gifts, shaping hearts, building generations, and covering loved ones with grace even in difficult seasons.

Thank you for being examples of compassion, resilience, and unconditional love. Your prayers, guidance, and care do not go unnoticed. May God continue to strengthen you, honor your sacrifices, and bless your homes with peace and joy.

May 6–12

This Nurses Week 2026, we proudly honor the theme:
“The Power of Nurses”

Across Mississippi and beyond, nurses continue to demonstrate unmatched strength, compassion, and clinical excellence. The power of nurses is seen not only in the care we provide at the bedside, but in the advocacy, leadership, and legacy we build within our communities every single day.

EPRNM stands on a rich foundation—rooted in resilience, driven by purpose, and committed to advancing the profession of nursing. From those who paved the way to those answering the call today, your impact is undeniable and your voice is essential.

As we celebrate this week, we recognize that the power of nurses is the power to heal, to lead, and to transform lives.

📖 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” — Philippians 4:13

Happy Nurses Week to all who serve with excellence and heart.

đź’™ State Scholars Gala Keynote Spotlight đź’™

EPRNM was honored to welcome Dr. Michael L. Jones, PhD, MBA/HCM, RN, FAAN as the keynote speaker for our State Scholars Gala—an esteemed nurse leader, former member of this organization, and a trusted friend and mentor to our State President.

Dr. Jones embodies what it truly means to be more than a nurse. He is a visionary who challenges the limits often placed on our profession, refusing to be confined to the bedside alone. With a no-nonsense approach and unwavering commitment to excellence, he continues to push nurses to think bigger, lead boldly, and walk confidently in every space they enter.

He does not take mentorship lightly. In fact, he elevates it. Dr. Jones operates as a sponsor—intentionally creating opportunities, opening doors, and placing the names of his mentees in rooms and positions where their gifts can be recognized and their impact can grow. That level of advocacy is rare, and it is powerful.

His work reflects a legacy that reaches beyond the present—one that honors those who came before us and inspires those who will follow.

📖 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” — Hebrews 10:24

EPRNM extends sincere appreciation to Dr. Jones for pouring into this organization and reminding us all of the responsibility we carry—not just to succeed, but to bring others with us.
