Project PAC - People and Canines

Project PAC - People and Canines The Coalition's Project PAC, offers professional dog and owner training. Life is made up of ordinary experiences that often give us extraordinary joy.

Project PAC offers basic obedience, customized training and limited service dog training. Project PAC was born out of a love for dogs and a desire to help improve the owner-companion dog experience for people with disabilities. Thanks to a grant from the Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities, the Coalition’s Project PAC, offers professional dog and people training for a limited number

of owners and dogs. Project PAC offers, as funds allow, basic obedience, customized training and, in some cases, limited service-dog training. If properly trained and cared for, our pets contribute to our joy and we to theirs. All Project PAC training is based on positive-reinforcement methods and conducted by an experienced dog trainer. For information about participating in Project PAC, contact the Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities at 601-969-0601.

‼️ The issue isn’t the disability.
The issue is the lack of awareness and understanding around disabled animals.
Education is key ‼️

Many people still believe that a disabled animal cannot live a happy, full life.
But every single day we see the opposite.
With the right support, care, and equipment, disabled animals can run, play, explore, and enjoy life just like any other animal.
The real barrier isn’t the disability…
It’s the misunderstanding around it.
Through education, support, and awareness, Pumpkin and Pumpkin & Friends Charity 1199484 is changing perceptions and giving disabled animals the chance they deserve.
Because disability is not a death sentence.

The ADA sets clear rules for service animals, yet real-world application in healthcare is rarely one-size-fits-all. Linda Matthews visited the MARL shelter to look for a small lap dog. She sure hit the lap dog jack pot when she adopted the loving year old Dachshund mix boy named Cletus. Cletus came in with several others when the owners could no longer keep them. Cletus will be an inside dog and very happy that his mom is retired and has a lot of time to spoil him. Thank you Linda for adopting this little guy. He is going to love all the attention he will get from his new family.
