With our organization's origins being related to scooping up dog p**p and cleaning up litter, it seems only right to honor the person responsible for pushing for legislation to address this persistent, annoying, and hazardous problem of dog p**p on the streets, Edward Lehner. He just died this past week at the age of 93.

Before the law passed, navigating New York was a harrowing exercise in dog-feces avoidance. As he put it, sometimes “you would come home and have it all over you.”
