We are a committee of the Jackson Heights Beautification Group, a major civic and environmental group in Queens.

CALLING ALL FANS OF THE 34TH AVENUE OPEN STREET.

The heat is on and it's time for JHBG's summer season at Paseo Park. It's been hot and dry and NYC Parks has been planting lots of trees in JH, including 34th Ave. We've got to keep them alive because trees protect us against climate change. Remember trees are Mother Nature's ACs!

Let's meet by 10 a.m. at 35-41 80 St. We supply the tools, please bring drinking water.

When you plant a tree it needs water! Our 3 new street trees along 37th Ave, need 20 gallons a week each, to thrive. (PLUS all our other young trees planted in the past 5 years!) Come join us Sat. June 6th : meet in front of 3541 80th st. It’s going to be a gorgeous Spring day and we have lots of watering to do 🌳🌿🌸🌻. We are certified for your schools volunteer credits just show up! (No advance registration needed). A producer of segments featuring NYC on NHK TV was kind enough to chose our JHBG Tree LC volunteers to highlight NYC Parks volunteer Tree Stewards. They were particularly interested in our expanded East End area of 37th Ave around 91st St which has been transformed in the past 4years. A great taste of what we do- going international! So glad NYC Urban Forest Plan was included and anchors comments that on average NYC has three times more trees than Tokyo!
