After a 2-year hiatus, the annual Queens Pride celebration is coming back bigger and prouder than ever and under new leadership. The LGBT Network, a 29-year-old nonprofit who provides a wide array of education, health, support, human services, and advocacy for tens of thousands of LGBTQ people and families, is leading a community wide effort to commemorate and celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Que

ens Pride – now known as The New Queens Pride on Sunday June 5th, 2022 in Jackson Heights. The Queens Pride Parade and Multicultural Festival is the second oldest and second largest pride parade in New York City. Founded in 1993, it is held annually on the first Sunday in June, in the neighborhood of Jackson Heights. The parade was founded by Daniel Dromm and co-chaired by Maritza Martinez to raise the visibility of the LGBTQ community in Queens and memorialize Jackson Heights resident Julio Rivera. Queens also serves as the largest transgender hub in the Western hemisphere and is the most ethnically diverse urban area in the world. The New Queens Pride will take place in-person and back on the streets of Jackson Heights on Sunday June 5th, 2022. Planning is underway and it is anticipated to be the largest celebration in the 30-year history of Queens Pride. The LGBT Network is also the organizer of Long Island Pride on Sunday June 12th and Pride Night at Citi Field on Friday June 17th giving sponsors and the community unparalleled reach to tens of thousands of participants. Over 80,000 people came together for what is widely recognized as the most diverse Pride celebration in the nation. 🏳️‍🌈

Queens Pride 2026 was a powerful reminder of what happens when community comes together in visibility, unity, and Unstoppable Pride.

From elected officials and community advocates to the NYPD, FDNY, local organizations, performers, volunteers, and the thousands who lined the streets of Jackson Heights, this year's celebration reflected the strength and diversity of Queens.

Our 2026 theme was Unstoppable Pride—and that's exactly what it felt like.

Thank you to everyone who marched, performed, volunteered, sponsored, partnered, and celebrated with us. Together, we showed that Pride is not just an event—it's a movement.

More than a dance academy, TCAD is committed to developing confident leaders and successful young adults. Through hard work, mentorship, and artistic excellence, the academy has helped more than 24 alumni earn placements at prestigious colleges and universities—including Penn State, Rutgers, Louisiana State University, Pace, Seton Hall, and Howard University—many on full-ride scholarships through dance. 🎓👏🏾

Javien Vasquez is an 18-year-old poet and current student at Baruch College whose journey with poetry is one of resilience, self-discovery, and purpose. ✨

After discovering his passion for writing during a difficult period in his life, Javien found a creative outlet that helped shape his voice and perspective. He later spent several years developing his craft with Uptown Stories, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and nurturing young writers. ❤️

Today, while pursuing studies in accounting and data analytics, Javien continues to make space for poetry—using it to honor his experiences, connect with others, and tell the stories that matter most.

Since 1996, Players Club has been inspiring audiences through the power of step, teamwork, and community. Founded by Edward L. Nelson while attending Monsignor Scanlan High School, the group quickly rose to prominence, winning 20 out of 22 championships in just two years and becoming one of the most celebrated step teams of its era. 👏🏾✨

At just 16 years old, Leiddey Santos is already making an impact through poetry, leadership, and advocacy. A proud pansexual poet, Leiddey has been writing and performing original work for nearly four years, using her voice to tell stories, inspire others, and celebrate authenticity. ✨

Beyond poetry, Leiddey is actively involved in her school community through band ensembles, nonprofit service with TEEEM, and as an attorney leading her school's mock trial team. Her dedication to creativity, leadership, and self-expression embodies the spirit of the next generation of changemakers. ❤️🏳️‍🌈
