DRUM Beats

09/01/2026

Saturday, we celebrated our June primary wins with East and West Queens members.

Members who canvassed in their neighborhoods and made calls to bring Samantha Kattan Aber Kawas Claire Valdez to working class South Asian communities shared their reflections on this past election. They talked about how we can keep working to understand our community’s most pressing concerns and ensure that we are rigorous in our evaluation of which candidates we endorse.

Many appreciations to our primary winners for celebrating with us! We look forward to continuing to build power and transform politics to serve the working class!

Soak it in NYC—the left won big last night!

Last year’s election of Zohran Mamdani wasn’t just a one time fluke based on identity. Working-class Indo Caribbeans, South Asians and immigrants across NYC turned out for the democratic primary to elect progressive candidates who will carry our calls to tax the rich, invest in care, and put an end to war and genocide!

8 DRUM Beats endorsed candidates won in the New York State Senate, Assembly, and in Congress last night! Our members reached thousands of people to get out the vote for transformative candidates!

Go out and vote NYC!

Last year, we elected Zohran Mamdani because we as working people want to be able to afford life in NYC. This year we need to vote again to make sure Mamdani has support in Albany to help tax the super wealthy. Working people pay taxes. Elect someone who believes that the rich need to pay their fair share too!

Affordable housing is on the ballot. Healthcare is on the ballot. Funding education is on the ballot.

Early Voting until tomorrow, Sunday, June 21
Election Day Tuesday, June 23
