Social Media Policy:
Thank you to all of our page visitors—especially those of you who use
CASAofcampbellcounty.org and this page as a way to deepen your connection to other
people engaged in the important work of finding safe, permanent homes for abused and
neglected children. We have committed to expanding our communication with members of the
CASA community by posting news and

responding as quickly as we can to questions raised here. We truly appreciate your comments and insights. We are a community that values mutual respect
and civility. Disagreements, debates, and discussions are to be expected—that's often how we
learn from each other. It’s important that we engage in these conversations in a way that is
respectful and positive. Please treat each other with respect. Name-calling and offensive or foul language just isn't
acceptable. We want a free and open discussion, but we will delete posts that are overly
disruptive to the community. Also, never post your personal contact information here. If you need to reach us, call our main
number at 423-562-2700 or use the online forms at CASAofcampbellcounty.org. Sharing contact
information is neither safe nor wise. We’re committed to taking every step to protect everyone’s
privacy. Help us with that. Finally, advertising or solicitation is not the purpose of our page. Posts including advertising or
promoting a specific Web site, event, or organization may be deleted. Online tools can help us expand the CASA movement. We encourage all of our supporters to be
involved. Let's treat each other with dignity and respect and build a strong and effective online
community to make a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children.

The month of April is designated as National Child Abuse Awareness Month. For one minute put yourself in the shoes of a child that has been removed from their home for abuse and neglect not knowing what the next minute or future holds. Having to leave what they call home and in most cases leaving with what they are wearing or maybe a few items in a plastic bag. This can be some of the most difficult and challenging times for a child dealing with abuse. I encourage everyone to consider giving of your time to be a CASA volunteer advocate for a child. CASA Volunteers investigate the cases, visit with the children, attend court and make a recommendation in a report to the court of what they feel is the best interest for the child.
Volunteering does not take a great deal of time in most cases 8-10 hours a month. Training is done on a one to one basis where we can work with your time and schedule. If you would like to know more about becoming a volunteer please reach out to us at 423-562-2700 or visit our website at www.casaofcampbellcounty.org.

Meet Linda Prim our Thursday afternoon Volunteer Advocate Spotlight. She retired form the Campbell County School Department, however she does not let this slow her down. She was sworn in as a volunteer advocate to our program on June 9th, 2025. She is also involved in many other volunteer opportunities in Campbell and the surrounding counties. She is dedicated to the children facing abuse and neglect and works countless hours advocating for them as they face some of the most difficult times of their lives. We are most grateful for people like Linda who give of their time to stand up and be a voice for these children.

Our Thursday morning Volunteer Advocate Spotlight is Tammy Baird. After retiring as a teacher with the Campbell County School System, she began volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate where she was appointed and sworn in on January 17, 2025. She brings a background of knowledge with her time of working with children to the program. Her time as a volunteer advocate she has spent numerous hours researching her cases and representing the child's best interest in court. We appreciate Tammy and the time she dedicates to the children of Campbell County and the CASA program.
