Kappa Alpha Omega donns purple for Domestic Violence Awareness💜💜

By wearing purple, we are showing our support for survivors, encouraging conversations, and reminding those affected that they are not alone. Together, we can promote education, empower individuals to seek help, and work toward ending domestic violence in our communities.

This October, we wear pink in honor of the fighters, in celebration of the survivors, in remembrance of those we have lost, and in support of everyone whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

Let us continue to raise awareness, encourage early detection, promote regular screenings and remind one another that no one has to fight this journey alone. Together, we can spread hope, strength, and love!

Kappa Alpha Omega was honored to attend the Pink Out Breast Cancer Awareness Event, sponsored by the Power of Pink, in partnership with the Opportunity in Motion Foundation and Delta Girls.

This impactful event celebrated breast cancer survivors, raised awareness, and honored those whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. Attendees participated in a meaningful walk in honor of survivors, those fighting the fight, and those we remember and hold close to our hearts.

This event also featured speakers who shared important breast cancer facts and encouraged early awareness, healthy eating and healthier lifestyles. An exercise demonstration reminded us of the importance of staying active and prioritizing our overall well being.

Together, we stand in pink for hope, strength, courage and the fight against breast cancer.

The Social Action Committee continues to show up and serve our community through voter registration, voter education and civic engagement!!

Over the weekend, the committee participated in two events. The first was hosted by the Men in Black and Blue fighting Prostate Cancer, under the umbrella of the Fannie Lou Hamer Cancer Foundation, providing an opportunity for the community members to register to vote and engage in voter education.

The next event was a Voting Rights Rally, sponsored by Parents for Public Schools, which provided information and encouraged community members to become informed and engaged in the voting process.

The Social Action Committee has been working tirelessly providing resources and organizing Voter Registration drives💚🩷

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, the committee proudly participated in a community resource fair at the Greenwood Youth Center. Our members engaged with the community, sharing valuable voting information, and encouraging everyone to make their voices heard through civic participation.

Saturday, September 5, 2026, KAO was proud to participate in a Back to School Rally, hosted by Project Revolution, supporting the students and families as they prepare for a successful school year!

Our chapter provided personal hygiene products to help meet an important need and remind our youth that their well-being matters.

We are always honored to serve our community through meaningful acts of service 🩷💚
