VERY EXCITED to announce, with NUMBERS, this campaign that the Tompkins Workers' Center is an upstate ANCHOR for: to seriously RAISE the minimum wage throughout the State. [Check out TCWC Member extraordinaire, Yolanda Josephs, who was a star at our Press Conference on this a month ago.] https://www.raiseupny.com/

Under this Bill when passed, the minimum wage would reach $20.00 by 2026 in UPSTATE NY and then catch up with the state-wide rate in 2027, which would be $21.25 plus annual indexing so that it keeps up with the rising cost of living and worker productivity.

Many of the Starbucks baristas in Ithaca, who of course organized successfully all three stores, are in great need of financial support. Of course, one store (C-Town) has SHUT DOWN and there are ongoing and fairly regular strikes taking place at the other two stores in downtown Ithaca. Please do give if you can!!
