There are warriors on the ground who are working daily to stem back the flow of hurt, trauma and loss that face children every single day. 😪 Making a difference in the life of a child who has faced pain isn’t a quick fix. It is a daily slogging uphill, a celebration of huge victories that the world might deem as unworthy of celebration, and a willingness to get up and do it all over again - no matter how hard the last day felt - spiritually, emotionally and even physically.

We’re still interrupting cycles… and we need you.

At For the Children Ithaca, we step into the lives of children who have experienced neglect, abuse, and abandonment—and we help create a different story.

Not through programs alone…
but through people.

People who show up.

People who choose to see, know, and value a child who may have never experienced that before.

That’s where you come in.

Camp is coming up fast—just 2 months and 1 week away!
We are still missing several applications for both campers and volunteers.

If your child is planning to attend, please have their caregiver/guardian complete the application ASAP. And if you’re volunteering and haven’t submitted yours yet, now is the time!

DEADLINE FOR CAMPERS AND VOLUNTEERS IS MAY 30th!! We can’t wait for camp, but we need these in to make it happen smoothly. Thank you for helping us care well for every child. 💜

Today's the day we get to honor our friends life... in his honor because he loved Rfk so much and was so excited to come this year. We are wearing royal family kids attire to the memorial service. 💜

Michael William Baker; age 48 of Ithaca passed away March 3, 2026 at his home. Mike was born August 3, 1977 the son of John and Colleen (Trace) Baker. He enjoyed mowing lawns for people and worked many years for a moving company. He also enjoyed setting up his hot dog stand and selling hot dogs at Ithaca football games with Jeremy Kemp. Mike was survived by his brother Thomas Baker; step-brothers Jerry (Brook Hammond) Baker, Christopher Baker, and Jonathan Baker; step-sister Carol Muma; aunts Ella Baker-Robinson, Sue Lombard, Elaine Trace, and Sherry Trace; and several nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded by both his parents; his step-brother Billy Baker; and his uncles Leo, Herb, and Rex Baker, and Roger Lombard. Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life Saturday, March 28 at 11 A.M. at the Oasis Community Church of Ithaca. Memorial contributions can be made on behalf of Mike to the Oasis Church or Heartland Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home of Shepherd.

To our incredible director—your vision, creativity, and tireless dedication brought this entire production to life. You saw it before any of us did, and because of you, we all got to step into something truly special.

To our cast—you didn’t just perform, you gave yourselves. Every line, every laugh, every moment on that stage mattered more than you know. You made the story come alive in a way that will stay with us.

To everyone behind the scenes—the set builders, the hands that carried, painted, lifted, created, tore down, and will now store it all away… you are the quiet strength behind the beauty. None of this happens without you.

To St. Louis Church of Christ—thank you for opening your doors so generously and supporting this vision. Your partnership made a way for something meaningful to take place in your space.

To those who baked, served, and created such a warm and welcoming cake reception—what a sweet way (in every sense) to celebrate together.

To our admissions team, our cleanup crew, and every single person who stayed late, showed up early, and did the unseen work—thank you. You carried this all the way through.

It truly takes a village… and this one showed up in the most beautiful way.

🦌💜 THANK YOU, BUCK POLE COMMUNITY! 💜🦌

My heart is so full today. Last night’s Buck Pole event was absolutely incredible, and because of this amazing community, $5,740 was raised for Royal Family Kids Ithaca!
To every hunter, family, friend, and community member who came out — thank you. Your generosity doesn’t just make an event successful… it helps create life-changing moments for kids in foster care. You are helping give them a week of hope, healing, fun, and God’s love.
A huge and heartfelt thank-you to the team who put this event together and everyone who helped run the Buck Pole. From setup to weigh-ins to raffles and everything in between, you served with excellence and heart. We see you, we appreciate you, and we couldn’t do this without you. Thank you Wally and John

Because of you, children who have walked through hard places will get to experience joy, safety, and belonging this summer — and that is something to celebrate.
