This year, a record-breaking 2 million more people will be diagnosed with cancer. 1 in 5 of those people will be the parent or guardian of children. Altogether, 5 million children—that’s 1 in 15—are currently navigating the challenges of a parent's cancer diagnosis.

While there are many avenues of support for cancer patients, the children of those with cancer do not have the same support. That's why Kesem is here to help.

We provide children facing a parent's cancer with an empowering, comforting, and inspirational community. If you know Kesem, you already know: Kesem isn’t a place; it’s a feeling.

You can help us reach generations of children with transformative and life-changing support. . Beginning April 28. 💚

We can't do this without you.

GO BIG RED❤️🏒 We are excited to share that the Cornell Men’s Ice Hockey Team () is continuing their Big Red Blocks for Healing Campaign!!! Last year their efforts raised an incredible $30,000, and they are hoping to surpass that total this year.

By joining the team, you can pledge an amount of money (minimum $0.10) per blocked shot throughout this season. At the end of the season, the money raised will be split and donated equally to both our organization and Kids with Courage (.with.courage), an organization dedicated to supporting children and young people battling Type 1 Diabetes.

Kesem at Cornell University is committed to creating supportive communities and transformative experiences for children who have a parent with cancer or have lost a parent to cancer. 💙

While we can’t take away cancer, and we can’t know the outcome of a parent’s cancer journey, we can bring children who uniquely understand each other together for life-changing experiences at our virtual, day, and overnight summer camp programs, experiences that help them rediscover the joys of their childhood and be their best selves.

But we can't do it without you. This , you can help us...

Give kids understanding.
Give kids adventure.
Give kids connection.
Give kids hope.

Kesem’s support for children grows, adapts, and endures - at diagnosis, during treatment, in remission, after a recurrence, and beyond - showing children that they don’t have to go through these experiences alone, no matter who they are and no matter what happens. 💚

We know that this type of peer-to-peer support can be powerful and transformative for a child, not only in how they cope with a parent’s cancer but in how they view themselves and how they navigate the world. Parents and children report positive mental health outcomes after Kesem, like enhanced communication skills, improved self-confidence, stronger coping skills, and more.

Help us create a world where every child navigating a parent's cancer can find hope and resilience and rediscover the joys of their youth through and beyond a parent's cancer. Make a gift now: https://donate.kesem.org/team/526398
