The Ithaca Shakespeare Company produces an outdoor Shakespeare festival each summer at Robert Treman

Our highly acclaimed productions draw thousands of people every summer from throughout the region, across the state, and beyond. The Ithaca Shakespeare Company is dedicated to presenting the works of William Shakespeare and his contemporaries with clarity and immediacy to a diverse audience, emphasizing dynamic ensemble acting, staging that forges a historical bond with Shakespeare's own theatres,

and performances that immerse the audience in the action and emotion of the play. Our approach to Shakespeare is active and exciting, involving close attention to the details of language and character and a strong component of physical action. We are committed to: providing educational programs and materials of exceptional quality for students, theatre personnel, and the general public; cultivating a supportive and collaborative creative environment for a wide range of local theatre artists; and presenting theatrical experiences that are powerful, moving, exciting, enjoyable, and thought-provoking for viewers of all ages.

See Ithaca Bar(d) Crawl’s Beatrice (Rebecca Rivera) and Benedick (Lindsey Cahoon) transform into the glamorous, mischievous Cecily Cardew and Gwendolen Fairfax.

Karen Veaner - Paulina in The Winter’s Tale - takes on the formidable Lady Bracknell.

And real-life couple Daniel Menendez and Casey Silidjian take on the gentlemen, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff.

Also featuring Elizabeth Livesay, Griffin Brahler and Ross Haarstad.

With smashing costumes by ISC’s own costumer, Elizabeth Kitney

The last Bar(d) Crawl is in the books! What a joy it’s been to bring a little Shakespeare to some of our favorite local spots. Huge thanks to Argos Inn, Liquid State Brewing Company, and Hopshire Farm and Brewery for hosting us, and to our directors Miranda, Holly, and Beth, along with the Programming Committee, for helping bring this series to life. We’re also grateful to everyone who came out, raised a glass, and supported theater along the way. Stay tuned. We’ll have more news soon about what’s next for ISC!

Tomorrow is the Final Act of the Bar(d) Crawl! 🎭
Join us Hopshire Farm and Brewery for Act III! Please enjoy some pics from our rehearsal this afternoon.
Please bring a chair, just like at Treman. There will be some benches available, but having your own chair will help ensure everyone has a comfortable seat.
Think you know Shakespeare? Put your knowledge to the test with a bit of Shakespeare trivia, including questions about some of the Bard’s lesser-known and less frequently produced plays.

Acts I and II were a huge success, and we are looking forward to Act III, which will give us a sneak peek at the shows that ISC has not yet produced, those that are on the agenda for some of the upcoming seasons. Come join us this Sunday from 4-6 pm at Hopshire Brewery and Farm for Bar(d) Crawl Act III!

That’s right – please note the new location – Hopshire Brewery and Farm – and the time – 4-6 pm. We are excited about our new venue, where we have both indoor and outdoor space, brews, and a view! We will perform outdoors so we encourage you to bring some seating and maybe a sweater!

✨ What a great night Liquid State Brewing Company for The Bar(d) Crawl Act II! 🎭🍻
We were thrilled to welcome more than 100 audience members for an evening filled with scenes, songs, and Shakespearean revelry. A huge thank you to Liquid State for hosting us, and an extra round of applause for our incredible director, holly adams, whose vision and leadership brought the magic to life.
The adventure isn’t over yet! Join us for Act III on Sunday, August 2 at 4:00 PM at Hopshire Farm and Brewery . The revelry continues!

🎭✨ What an amazing opening for Bard Crawl: Act I! ✨🎭
We welcomed over 100 guests for an unforgettable evening of Shakespeare. The performers absolutely rocked it, bringing every scene to life, and provided the perfect picturesque backdrop for a magical night of theater.
A huge thank you to for her incredible direction of Act I, to our talented cast for their passion and hard work, and to Argos for hosting us in such a beautiful setting.
But we’re not done yet! 🎉
Act II is up next at on 7/26 at 6:30pm featuring a new cast, new scenes, and the same awesome Bard Crawl experience!
