Cornell International Alumni Relations

Cornell International Alumni Relations No matter the distance from Ithaca, a Cornellian is a Cornellian for life, and we are proud to have alumni in all corners of the globe.

Our mission is to help you stay connected with Cornell even after you leave New York. Once a Cornellian, always a Cornellian. Near or far, Cornellians across the globe make vital contributions to the life of the university by serving on advisory councils and boards, sharing ambassadorial messages about the university, providing leadership in their professional fields and local communities, recruit

ing future Cornellians, nurturing young alumni, giving to the university, and organizing dynamic events and programs that engage, inform, and enrich each other. The Cornell Club of Japan hosted a successful virtual Student Send-off on June 27, bringing together incoming students, current students, alumni, and families to connect before the start of the academic year. The program featured introductions, helpful campus resources, and a lively Cornell trivia game led by members of the Japan Undergraduate Students Association (JUSA), giving new students the opportunity to hear directly from current Cornellians. The event helped foster early connections, build community, and prepare students for a smooth transition to campus.

Our small but dedicated Cornell community in Vietnam recently had the pleasure of hosting two special gatherings for incoming students and their families. We hosted Student Send-offs in both HCMC and Hanoi. This was a heartfelt welcome and send-off dinner. Together, these events celebrated the beginning of our newest students' Cornell journeys while strengthening connections within our local alumni community.

On a lovely afternoon on the 14th June 2026 in London, United Kingdom, alumni, current students, and parents gathered to welcome the newest students and their parents and family members to the Big Red Cornell Family over light refreshments. We had three breakout groups: Undergraduate Students, Graduate Students and Parents. We shared stories and tips and wished the newest members of our Cornell family the very best for their Cornell experience. We also thanked the current students and wished them all the best for their remaining time at Cornell. We also had a very special attendee join us, Yvette A. Lam, Interim Director of International Development, Europe and India. She enjoyed meeting the attendees and shared a few words of welcome in the Parent breakout group. Long may we continue our connections with each other.

Cornellians showed up in full force this spring as International Alumni Relations brought the Big Red community together in Monterrey and Mexico City for two dynamic alumni events.

With 24 attendees in Monterrey and 31 in Mexico City, both gatherings were filled with energy, connection, and new faces, including a number of walk-in guests eager to be part of the Cornell network. Conversations flowed well into the evening, with alumni staying for hours to reconnect, share stories, and build new relationships.

The excitement didn’t stop there. Smaller gatherings with alumni leaders and emerging volunteers revealed strong enthusiasm to grow and strengthen the Cornell presence in Mexico, setting the stage for even more engagement ahead.

We’re incredibly grateful to our alumni hosts and volunteers who made these events so special, and we’re just getting started. Stay tuned for more opportunities to connect!
