💡 Have an idea for a business—but don’t know where to start?
You don’t need to have everything figured out. That’s what Her+ Business Builder is for.
Starting October 13, you’ll learn alongside other women as we walk through the process of building a business step by step—from figuring out your foundation and pricing to branding, finding customers, funding, AI tools, and planning what comes next.
Over 9 weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to:
✨ Develop your business idea into something actionable
💰 Learn pricing, financials, funding & loans
📣 Build your brand and marketing strategy
🛍️ Learn how to find customers and make sales
🤖 Explore practical AI tools for business
🤝 Learn alongside a small, supportive group of women
🎓 Earn a Certificate of Completion
🌟 Finish by showcasing what you’ve built in our Business Showcase
Her+ is FREE, and you can participate in person in Ithaca or virtually.

It’s easy to say we support women. This is an opportunity to put those words into action—right here in our own community.
Women’s Opportunity Center shows up for women every single day. We advocate. We help women find safety and stability. We help them build careers, pursue entrepreneurship, gain new skills, overcome barriers, and create more independent futures.
Our work doesn’t begin when women’s issues make headlines—and it doesn’t end when the headlines disappear.
If you believe women deserve safety, opportunity, economic independence, and a voice, we’re asking you to show up with us.
Donate if you can. Share this post. Start a fundraising team. Challenge your workplace or organization to participate. Invite someone else to join you.

💜 Want to make an immediate, practical difference for a woman or family in our community?
The Women’s Opportunity Center has created a Walmart Registry filled with everyday essentials our clients need—from diapers, wipes, and menstrual products to shampoo, toothpaste, body wash, and underwear.
These may seem like small things, but when someone is struggling to make ends meet, they can bring comfort, dignity, and real relief.
And helping doesn’t have to cost a lot:

🍂 Community in action — and a legacy of caring that continues. 💜
A heartfelt thank you to Freeville United Methodist Church for celebrating its 50th Harvest Festival by inviting festival goers to donate much-needed personal care items for the Community Closet at the Women’s Opportunity Center.
This collection was especially meaningful because it was held in memory of Nancy Carver, honoring a life rooted in faith, compassion, and service to others. What a beautiful way to continue Nancy’s legacy — neighbors coming together to make sure other members of our community have what they need.
It was a beautiful day, an incredibly generous crowd, and a wonderful reminder of what community can look like when we take care of one another.
Thank you to Freeville United Methodist Church, everyone who donated, and everyone who helped make the day possible. Nancy’s legacy of caring lives on. 💜
