As if Ithaca Children's Garden wasn't awesome enough: here comes the Hands-on-Nature Anarchy Zone! We all know that children need fun, multi-sensory opportunities to get outside and connect with nature in hands-on and bodies-on ways. The Anarchy Zone will help "take it to the next level" and be a place where children can dog for worms, play with water sand and clay, plant trees, build forts out of

straw bales and stumps, cook food, and more—and in the process get muddy, wet, dirty, and wild. We are using exciting examples of nature play, adventure playgrounds, and city farms from Germany, Scandinavia, and the UK as our models, and bringing in international experts in play and playwork to help train our local playwork facilitators.
