The Gratiot Conservation District is hosting a FREE Tire Collection tomorrow, Saturday, September 19, at the Gratiot County Fair for Youth fairgrounds in Alma from 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

✅ Up to 8 tires per time slot

Su***de touches every community. Here in Gratiot County, we’re grateful for community partners like the Gratiot County Substance and Su***de Prevention Program through Child Advocacy-Gratiot County that work to raise awareness, strengthen connections, and provide valuable prevention education.

September is Su***de Prevention Month, with several local events and opportunities taking place throughout the month to encourage connection, education, and awareness. Take a moment to get involved and be part of a community that looks out for one another.

Twenty-five years ago, our world forever changed.

Today, we remember the lives lost, the families and communities forever impacted, the first responders who answered the call, and all those affected in the years that followed.

A big shoutout to Shelly, our board members Marci and Steve, and the Ithaca Rotary Club for volunteering their time at the MyMichigan Health Food Distribution to support our neighbors throughout Gratiot County.

📢 GRANT OPPORTUNITY: Up to $20,000 for Community Projects!

Does your organization have an idea that could make a meaningful difference in your community? The Consumers Energy Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2026 Community Impact Awards, offering grants of up to $20,000 per project.

The program is designed to support community-led projects that address local needs, create visible community improvements, encourage resident involvement, and build collaboration among local organizations. Priority areas include People, Planet and Prosperity.

Who can apply?
✅ 501(c)(3) nonprofits with annual revenue of $500,000 or less
✅ Municipalities
✅ Federally recognized Tribal Governments

Projects must operate in Michigan and benefit a community served by Consumers Energy.

Funding may support project-related materials, equipment, supplies, volunteer engagement activities, community amenities and other direct project implementation costs.

💰 Maximum Award: $20,000 per project
🗓 Application Deadline: September 15, 2026 at 5:00 PM
