The role of an agricultural educator can mean so many things – from introducing young people where their food comes from to getting them excited about the many possibilities for future jobs in agriculture, and more. In New York, we’re proud to have such a strong network of dedicated, passionate ag educators, and we’re thrilled to see 10 of them were recently named as finalists of the 2025-2026 Golden Owl Award! These exceptional teachers were recognized for their positive impact in the classroom and communities they serve. The 2025-2026 District Awardees are:
District 1 – Robert Markuske, NY Harbor FFA
District 2 – Rachel Rose, Greenville FFA
District 3 – Lee Levine, Galway FFA
District 4 – Nicole Cunningham, Sherburne-Earlville FFA
District 5 – Katie Lindsey, Mount Markham FFA
District 6 – Rachael Howard, South Lewis FFA
District 7 – Cheyenne Nowalk, McGraw FFA
District 8 – Mary Coolbaugh, Whitman FFA
District 9 – Kelly Wilcox, Letchworth FFA
District 10 – Arissa Hitchcock, Randolph FFA
We want to congratulate all the finalists, and thank them (and all the ag educators across the state) for the work they do!
