Moozey and Cream capping the ends of this group shot!

Moozey would excel in many homes. We do know one of her superpowers is being an excellent teen or youth prospect for agility, sport or obedience.

Cream would prefer a bit more chill in his daily life and excitement on the weekends. He loves hiking, swimming & evenings on the couch catching up on shows.

BARK Rescue Kennels needs everyone’s help! They do so much for Bosque & all the surrounding counties who also lack animal welfare infrastructure. Without their assistance many Hill County dogs would not be receiving the care & homes they deserve.

4 of the strays we rescued in Hill County are on this transport. Any help sharing, engaging or donating would be greatly appreciated.

🚨 URGENT: BARK NEEDS YOUR HELP 🚨

For nearly 7 years, our BARK transport van has faithfully carried hundreds of dogs to their second chance. It has been incredibly reliable, but this week we were hit with our first major mechanical issue.

The timing couldn’t be worse.

This Friday night, we’re scheduled to leave for Iowa with 15 dogs whose futures depend on this trip.

We thought we had a backup plan. We reserved a cargo van through Enterprise, but they called today and let us know they had given our reserved van away because of the increased demand during Prime Week.

At this point, our only rental option is Penske, and it would cost over $2,000 just to rent a cargo van for the trip. As a nonprofit that receives zero city or county funding, that’s an expense we simply can’t absorb.

Over the years, our Rescue Road Trip program has grown far beyond Bosque County. We’ve been proud to help rescues in Bosque, Hill, McLennan, and surrounding counties get dogs to safety and into loving homes. We’ve always believed that when one rescue succeeds, we all succeed.

We very rarely ask for help.

Today, we’re asking.

If you own a cargo van—or know someone who does—that would be willing to let us borrow or rent it Friday night through Sunday for our Iowa transport, please reach out.

✔️ We are happy to pay to add our experienced drivers to your insurance or work out a fair rental agreement. Our transport team has safely driven countless rescue miles.

🦷 Evie leave next week. Before she heads out of town she needed to be spayed & have a dental. She had very thick tartar on all teeth, breath was bad & you could tell it hurt sometimes, she prefers soft food.
Evie is still recovering from anesthesia but WOW, her teeth look brand new ✨ Pre-op bloodwork looked good, spay site looks good, no irritation to the gums, bright enamel & her breath smells better. The tech who performed the dental said there was no need to pull any teeth & once the tartar was off, nothing else needed to be done!
Thank you to the team at Young's Animal Hospital for taking great care of Ms. Evie 🙌

🏥 Evie’s surgeries totaled $465, her bill is paid. Any help towards recouping these costs or sharing her story is always a big help. Every interaction helps us generate the ability to do this again for the next Pup 🐶

It’s $5 Friday ♨️
We’ve got some deserving dogs heading to their new homes on transport, and every 💲helps us get them there. Transports happen in state & out of state after each dog is cleared by our veterinary team prior to travel. We are lucky to have some amazing rescue partners who help us place Hill County dogs into wonderful homes 🏠

This week’s Transports 🚘

1️⃣ Mama June showed up in Itasca as a dump/stray and 2 weeks later had a litter under someone’s carport. Mama & her 6 *FAT* puppies saw the vet & are in good health. Mama needs to keep gaining weight but she looks much better. They are heading out tomorrow 🙌

2️⃣ The Newspaper Litter also came from Itasca. Their Mama was a dump/stray who had puppies on someone’s property. Tragically she was shot and killed. Once she has her puppies, she was scared and acted aggressively towards the property owners. Half of the litter went to a rescue in Houston & we bottle raised these 4 precious pups. They saw the vet this week & we’re all cleared to travel They head to their new homes tomorrow 🙌

3️⃣ Bug was found on a private dirt road, 2 # and covered in 100’s of Red Ant bites + fleas + worms. He healed up quickly & doubled in weight. Bug saw the vet & received a clean bill of health. He left on transport this week at 5.5 # & he is already in his new home 🙌
