Blaire’s 8th Birthday Book Drive was a huge success this year! With your help we donated 3,048 books to KidVantage!! Wow!

This year, word of our book drive reached more people and we very much enjoyed connecting with each of you! Whether I was in my grubby clothes gardening when you came by with books 😆, if I met you at your house, or we texted or chatted over messenger, all of our interactions were deeply meaningful to us. Our book drive brings us closer to Blaire and knowing she is seen and loved by her community is all we could ever hope for. Thank you for honoring our girl, showing how good our community is, and helping us pay it forward.

We will be back next year so keep us in mind when you are ready to donate books! 💜

Thank you to our friends at Personalized Orthodontics - Rooz Khosravi, DMD, PhD (PORTH Sammamish by Metropolitan Market) for hosting a book drive in your office for us! A huge thank you to our friends at True Martial Arts - Sammamish and their students for collecting over 1,300 books (in only a week!) for Blaire’s 8th Birthday Book Drive! We are humbled by your generosity and thankful for your friendship! The sense of community you’ve built at your school is incredible!

Even though we will drop off the books soon to KidVantage we still still accept donations through the end of the month. And of course, we’ll be back next year. 💜

Presenting the 2025 Shine Bright for Blaire Krekel Dance Scholarships honorees!

Big congratulations to: Amelia, Georgia, Hailey, Harper, Lennon, Mae, Poppy, Reagan, Songya, Willow, and Zuri!

The honorees were selected by their dance teachers at Inspire Academy of Dance for their ‘Passion for dance and the joy they bring to every class, just like Blaire did.’

We had the pleasure of hosting the honorees and their families at the studio for sweets, crafts, conversation with an awards ceremony where each dancer was presented with a certificate, t-shirt and goodie bag. Getting to know the dancers and their families is extremely meaningful to our family. It was truly our honor to meet everyone and see their dancers so excited to be celebrated. There was certainly a lot of Blaire magic in the room that day! 💜🌈

Thank you so much for your continued partnership, Inspire Academy of Dance. You’re a very special place to many in our community.

We’ve been working on a new project, and it’s been so much fun! We have adopted a road near our home and have completed our second cleanup which means we get to officially name our road!

Both of our cleanups have been really rewarding. During the first, a woman pulled over to thank us and told us she was in charge of the road for many years. She expressed how thankful she is that others care about their community too. She was returning home from the farmers market and gave us a huge bag of apples she just got. After that, several people slowed down to thank us, which made our day.

Today, a cyclist rode by Brynn and told her “You’re a good person!” and when he got to me he said “You’re raising a good human!” His sentiments made our day.

Blaire keeps finding a way to bring our family and community together, and that is such a gift as we continually navigate our life without her physically with us. Grief doesn’t get easier, you just learn how to live with it. These little projects are a great way for us to honor her and spread love to our community.

We love you, Blaire! 💜

Blaire's 8th birthday is coming up on July 23rd, and that means it’s time to collect books for KidVantage (formally Eastside Baby Corner). We'd love your help in reaching our goal of donating 1,000 books!

There are many ways you can participate in our book drive:

- SHARE this post! We've received books from all over the world!

- Purchase books from any website or this wish list and send them directly to our house: https://bit.ly/3GXIlqP

- Drop off used or new books at our house or DM me to coordinate another way for me to get them. Our address is 2893 258th PL SE, Sammamish, WA 98075

- Venmo (, last 4 digits 2402) or PayPal me ([email protected]) and we will go shopping for books with your generous donation

- Host your own mini book drive! We have several businesses and organizations that have partnered with us to collect books and it's been a fun and rewarding experience for all of us! I can provide you with flyers and will come get the books from you.

- Books can be for newborns through 12-years-old. Any language! New or used! The Amazon wish list is simply a suggestion of what you can donate; please give any books you'd like!

Blaire’s 7th Birthday Book Drive benefiting KidVantage is complete for 2024! Thank you everyone for your generous contributions!

We exceeded our goal of 1,000 books and ended up donating 1,363 books!

Your kindness not only helped others in our community, but you have helped make Blaire’s birthday extra special for us, and for that we are forever grateful. 💜

P.S.- if you have books between now and next summer you want to contribute to next year’s book drive but can’t store them, DM me and we’d be happy to take them!

Happy 7th Birthday to our darling Blaire Nicole. Your last earthly birthday was your 2nd, which is how old your brother will turn next week. We celebrated that day in 2019 going to a farm, which is what we did today. You loved animals so much!

Such a mix of emotions celebrating you from afar, admiring Brynn doting on Benjamin like she did on you, and seeing so many similarities (especially physical) between you and him.

Forever grateful to be the mom to three amazing children. How I wish for a moment where I could hug all of you at once.

Blaire’s Birthday Book Drive benefiting KidVantage is still going strong over here! Our goal is 1,000 books and we are at 1,008 with a couple more weeks to go! Let’s pay it forward and give to those that don’t have easy access to books.
