The majority of our current senior dog residents are over 12 yrs of age. This special group of seniors were not adoptable when they were younger because of behavioral and physical ailments. They will safely and happily remain at our sanctuary for their lifetime. The sanctuary dogs enjoy all the aspects of companionship, fun, health, play and interaction that all well-cared-for dogs living in tradi

tional homes enjoy. Over the years, many hard to place dogs have been successfully placed in perfect matched homes! All of the dogs who enter our sanctuary receive behavior and obedience training which gives them great tools, regardless of their final placement. Safe and Sound Sanctuary provides all of our animals, both the dogs as well as the stray and feral kitties in our neighborhood, with ongoing medical care and treatment, customized feeding, housing and shelter, grooming and daily socialization and exercise. Perhaps most importantly, we provide a lifetime home with lots of fun and even more love to those dogs that were not adoptable and others turned away!

💙 Happy Father's Day to All the Amazing Dads 💙

Today, we celebrate the extraordinary men who fill our lives with love, guidance, protection and unwavering support.

To the Dads, bonus Dads, stepdads, adoptive Dads, foster Dads, grandfathers, godfathers, Father-in-laws, pet Dads, Dads to be, Father figures, those that love like Dads and Moms doing double duty who have stepped up and made a difference—thank you. Your strength, kindness, and sacrifices shape families, inspire generations and make the world a better place.

We also honor the incredible fur-Dads—the men who open their hearts and homes to rescue animals, foster the forgotten and provide love, safety, and second chances to those who need it most. Your compassion is a beautiful reminder family is built through love, not just biology.

And today, we hold close the memories of the Fathers and Father figures who are no longer with us. May their love, lessons and legacies live on in our hearts forever.

To every man who has nurtured, protected, taught, rescued, encouraged and loved—whether your children walk on two legs or four—you are HEROES in ways both big and small.
