Summer is here and that could mean travel for some. Here are some ways to avoid travel scams:

1) Get all the details of a travel offer before you commit. If the organizer can’t or won’t give you more specific details (other than saying “you’ll stay at a ‘five-star’ resort”), walk away.

2) Do some research. Look up the names of travel companies, hotels, rentals, and agents with the words “scam,” “review,” or “complaint.” See what others say about them before you commit.

3) Look at how they ask you to pay. Only scammers say the only way to pay is by wire transfer, gift card, payment app, or cryptocurrency. They prefer these methods because, once they’ve collected the money, it’s almost impossible to get it back.

ECLI-VIBES team member Carolyn was pleased to attend the Suffolk County Alliance of Chambers quarterly meeting on June 17, hosted at the beautiful Suffolk Theater and managed by Executive Director Gary Hygom.

The meeting, led by SCAC Chair Robert Fonti, featured an informative panel of speakers including Michael Smith, CEO Catholic Charities of LI along with Assemblywomen Jodi Giglio and Rebecca Kassay.

Thank you to all who shared valuable insights and updates. Opportunities like these strengthen collaboration, foster growth, and help build stronger, more connected communities across Suffolk County.

ECLI-VIBES team members Feride Castillo and Laura Mullen were honored to participate as panelists at the 9th Annual HEART for Human Trafficking Symposium hosted by Northwell Health on June 3rd.
This year’s theme, “Turning Awareness into Advocacy, and Advocacy into Action,” brought together healthcare professionals, advocates, law enforcement, social workers, educators, and community members to explore trauma-informed strategies and strengthen collaborative efforts to combat human trafficking in the digital age.

ECLI-VIBES was honored to attend the Cycling 4 Change (C4C) Golf Outing in partnership with Northwell Health, led by Dr. Santhosh Paulus, at the beautiful Muttontown Club.
The event brought together passionate advocates, community leaders, and supporters dedicated to raising awareness and funds to combat human trafficking. Special guest Butch Goring of the New York Islanders was on hand to support the mission and cheer on the golfers throughout the day.
Attendees heard powerful and thought-provoking remarks from speakers including Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, President of the Board of Directors for Cycling 4 Change, and Suffolk County Family Court Judge, the Honorable Fernando Camacho, among others.
A special thank you to ECLI-VIBES team member Laura Mullen, a member of the Cycling 4 Change Board, for inviting Carolyn Villegas to participate. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to learn more about this important initiative, connect with dedicated community partners, and reconnect with longtime colleague Joe Volavka, VP & Deputy Hospital President at Huntington Hospital.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, talent, and generosity to support this critical cause. Together, we can continue raising awareness and creating change in the fight against human trafficking.

ECLI-VIBES is grateful to Kathy Z. for generously volunteering her time and yoga talents to lead a Trauma-Informed Yoga class for our participants.

While our yogis enjoyed a relaxing and restorative yoga session, their children were cared for and entertained by our amazing volunteers, giving moms the opportunity to focus on self-care and wellness.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for helping create a space where healing, relaxation, and support can flourish. Together, you helped make someone's day a little brighter and more peaceful. 💜✨
