Today, we wear purple for every survivor who found the courage to speak. For every person still searching for a way out. For every life forever changed by violence. And for those whose voices were tragically silenced.

We wear purple because love should never hurt. Fear should never feel like home. And no one should have to fight for their safety alone.

At ECLI-VIBES, standing with survivors isn’t something we do just during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It’s who we are. It’s the calls we answer, the hands we hold, the stories we honor, and the hope we help rebuild.

Behind every purple shirt in these photos is someone who believes that survivors deserve more than survival. They deserve safety. Dignity. Freedom. And a future filled with possibility.

To every survivor, wherever you are in your journey:

When the case closes, our work continues.

When a crime occurs, much of the attention understandably focuses on the investigation, the arrest, the prosecution, and ultimately, whether justice is served.

But what happens to the victim when the investigation ends? When the perpetrator is incarcerated? When the headlines fade and everyone else moves on?

Victim service organizations are often the quiet backbone of our communities and an essential part of the support system for our law enforcement partners.

We are there when someone needs a safe place to go. When a family is trying to rebuild. When a survivor is navigating the emotional, financial, and practical consequences of what happened to them.

We are there through the court proceedings, but also long after. Through the setbacks, the difficult decisions, the small victories, and the long process of reclaiming independence.

Holding someone accountable and helping someone heal are two different parts of the same response. Both matter. Both are necessary.

Yet victim services are often among the first to face funding uncertainty, despite the critical role they play in supporting survivors.

We are grateful to Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo for recognizing the work of ECLI-VIBES and discussing the importance of restoring critical funding during his recent appearance on the Suffolk County PBA’s On Patrol podcast.

And we are grateful to our law enforcement partners who understand that a coordinated response doesn’t end with an arrest or conviction.

Victim services aren’t an afterthought. They are an essential part of the response.

A Night of Letting Go & Finding Your Inner Strength
It was an evening of self-reflection, healing, and finding inner peace. Participants took part in a symbolic release exercise, writing down what they wanted to let go of and safely releasing it. They also created personalized empowerment jars with crystals representing the energy they want to welcome into their lives.
Thank you, Raylynn and Michelle, for creating such a meaningful and empowering experience!

We were grateful for the opportunity to share what ECLI-VIBES does, the free services we provide, and how recent government funding cuts are impacting our ability to serve survivors and families in our communities.

It was also wonderful to hear from Suffolk County Legislator Anthony Piccirillo and Assemblyman Doug Smith.

34 children found. 100+ professionals. Nearly 40 agencies. One shared mission: keeping children safe.

SCATI is proud to recognize the incredible collaboration behind the Long Island Missing Child Rescue Operation and grateful to OCFS, NYS Missing Persons Clearinghouse, National Child Protection Task Force, and New York State Police for their leadership.

Over three days, professionals from law enforcement, child welfare, advocacy, and service organizations worked together to locate 34 missing children and teens and connect them with care, resources, and continued support.

We are especially grateful to our SCATI members and Suffolk County partners who brought their expertise, compassion, and commitment to this effort.

Because finding a child is only the beginning.

Listening. Supporting. Stabilizing. Preventing future harm.

That’s the work that follows—and that’s why partnerships matter.
