FRANCISCAN MEDIA:
St. Maximilian Kolbe is known as a
martyr of the Holocaust.
The Conventual Franciscan friar
was executed on August 14, 1941,
at Auschwitz, after giving up
his life for another inmate...
“The grace of God, the peace of Christ,
was triumphing over the hatred of the Nazis,”
Father McCurry says.
“[St. Maximilian] accompanied
nine hungry, thirsty, naked,
homeless, sick, imprisoned people
into the death cell
and ministered to them.
