☀️ What a BEAUTIFUL day here in Northern Maine, and our volunteers have been hard at work bringing fresh meals, kindness, and community connection to neighbors across the region! 🌲

📍 Oakfield/Smyrna
Dee has been busy in the kitchen serving up a delicious pasta dish with veggies and dessert 🍝🥗🍰 and Mary is out delivering meals! 🚗💨
Both Dee and Mary have been repeat volunteers and true pillars of kindness in their community. Thank you both for continuing to show up for your neighbors week after week. 💕

📍 Island Falls/Crystal
Dominique and Shawn spent the day cooking up some classic summer favorites — baked beans, potato salad, and hot dogs 🌭🫘🥔 while Becky made sure everyone had cookies for dessert 🍪
Linda B. is delivering meals to our 04747 neighbors today, along with helpful literature from the Aroostook Agency on Aging provided by Ashlee 📚💙
Community support comes in so many forms, and today was a perfect example of that.

Tasha cooked up a delicious BBQ chicken meal with loaded rotini salad and dessert 🍗🥗🍰 — the absolute picture of summer on this gorgeous Maine weekend ☀️
Ann and Jill are out delivering to our Patten/Sherman neighbors, and I just want to give a special thank you to these ladies for their time and flexibility. They’ve volunteered multiple times in multiple communities, and are such a wonderful reminder that kindness doesn’t stop at a zip code line. 💚

We appreciate every cook, driver, donor, and supporter who helps make these deliveries possible. Small acts of kindness truly ripple through our North Woods communities. 🌲❤️

🍽️💛 Last weekend, Tasha and Ruth teamed up to provide our Island Falls/Crystal crew with a delicious fresh meal, while Alisa cooked for our Patten/Sherman neighbors and Bridgit helped deliver! 🚗🥘

Happy Saturday!

As we welcome spring and look ahead to another beautiful summer here in northern Maine 🌲☀️, our regular weekly meal deliveries will begin to wind down for the season.

With warmer weather comes a few good things—easier access to resources, less demand for heating oil, and a chance for our volunteers to enjoy some well-deserved time with their families. You’ve all given so much these past months, and it truly shows in the impact we’ve made together.

That said—this is not a full stop.

If any individual, family, or group feels called to put together a Sunday delivery at any point, I am always happy to coordinate and support that effort. Just reach out 🤍

And as always, please keep me in the loop on any critical or special outreach needs—we will continue to show up where it matters most.

🌲☀️ With the warmer weather finally here, it feels like everything is starting to come back to life—including our ability to get out, connect, and support one another a little more easily.

North Woods Neighbors–Community Outreach is always looking for a few extra hands, and this is honestly one of the nicest times of year to jump in. Roads are clearer, days are longer, and deliveries feel a lot less stressful than they do in the middle of winter.

If you’ve ever thought about helping out, this is your sign—but truly, no pressure at all. There’s no long-term commitment, no set schedule, and no expectations beyond what you’re able (and comfortable) to give. Some people cook, some deliver, some just help here and there when it fits into their week.

What matters most is that our neighbors continue to receive a check in from a friendly face and feel remembered—and every single person who helps makes that possible.

If you’re curious, even just a little, reach out or keep an eye on upcoming posts. We’d love to have you join in, in whatever way works for you 🤍

Last weekend, Tasha and Linda teamed up to serve our Island Falls / Crystal neighbors!

Tasha cooked up a delicious baked ziti, paired with sweet poodle cookies for dessert 🐾🍪 and Linda provided her expert delivery—finally with some beautiful weather on her side! ☀️
