Early voting has started and Election Day is coming right up on Tuesday, November 3. We wanted to let you know that the Islamorada Library branch is NO LONGER A POLLING PLACE. Early voting is on through Oct. 31 from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. In the Upper Keys, early voting sites are Plantation Key Community Center (old courthouse) – 88820 Overseas Hwy, Plantation Key or Monroe County Elections Office Branch – Murray Nelson Government Center, 102050 Overseas Hwy, #137 (mm 102) Key Largo.

On Election Day, Precinct 25 is now at the Founders Park Community Center, 87000 Overseas Hwy. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Flood map update? You thought that was over and done with, didn't you. Well, they're back, sort of.

FEMA accepted the appeals filed by Monroe County and the City of Key West, but requested data to support those appeals. Woods Hole Group submitted the requested information this week, and now we're back to the Work Map Production phase of the timeline. Same place we were in 2019, when we were all so much younger!

A booth is a room you build in four hours and take apart in one.

Holiday markets, craft fairs, vendor shows and expos all ask the same thing of a small business: be recognizable from fifteen feet away while you are mid-conversation with someone else.

Signage is what does that. A banner behind you carrying the name. A display or poster that answers what you sell before anyone asks. A table sign. Something at the front edge of the table people can take. A small sign for whatever you want them to scan.

The part worth planning: the same kit travels. A booth built for a November market works at a spring expo, a trade show and a school night, as long as nothing on it is dated.
