These men, our founding fathers, realized that there was a need for a group that transcended the existing barriers on campus, within the Greek system, and in the social strata. as for membership went beyond racial and cultural barriers thereby creating Sigma Chi Omega Multicultural Fraternity. The organization became the first multicultural interest fraternity to be founded at the UC Santa Barbara campus.

In respect to the Day of Mourning scheduled for tomorrow, we will not be having our Taco Tuesday Fundraiser. We are all extremely saddened by the incident that occurred in our beautiful community on Friday night. We would like to give our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and everyone who was affected by this tragic occurrence. We will do all we can to assist the families of the victims and to help the community cope with this horrible event. We hope that the innocent victims rest in peace and we will work as a community to get through this tough time. Stay strong Gauchos, stay strong.
