Happy Monday everyone! M.U.J.E.R. would like to announce our 25th Annual Adelante M.U.J.E.R. Conference! This year's theme is "Restoring Community through Healing & Honoring Our Stories." We invite members of the community and the UCSB campus to join us in uplifting this year's attendees as either a workshop facilitator or volunteer(links in the flyer below), and to continue our mission of empowering folks of marginalized genders through justice, educational, and revolutionary engagement. ¡Adelante!

Wishing everyone luck in their finals right now. We wanted to start of by saying thank you to our Co-Chair Gabriela for initially bringing up the idea of doing the chant and everyone who took the initiative and organized in a short time. Thanks for standing in solidarity with all the marginalized genders in different parts of Latin America, Caribbean, India and many places which experience gender-based violence. Even though it was the week before finals in the quarter and many of us had responsibilities, we want to thank you for making this just as important. We simply cannot ignore these harmful acts against marginalized genders.

This action was important to our organization as Latinx identifying women, women/femme aligned, and gender non-conforming folks who experience injustices and bear with the knowledge of other marginalized gender-identifying folk who experience the same oppressions everyday. It was uplifting to know that there are folks in the UCSB community who stand in solidarity with this fight. We thank the students who performed and witnessed, USLAC for providing amplification, all of our allies for their support, the Women’s Center for providing a safe space post-performance, videographer Aeson Wilder for filming and editing, and all of our M.U.J.E.R.es who were involved in every part of organizing, and Las Tesis for this powerful call.

Thank you, and together we shall fiercely persevere against gendered violence and oppressive systems.

UCSC Grad Students have called a strike! They will withhold grades until given a cost of living adjustment (COLA) of $1,412 a month is granted! M.U.J.E.R. de UCSB is in solidarity with COLA!
