Santa Barbara Hillel We are your "Jewish Home Away from Home" in Santa Barbara. We are an independent non-profit student life organization affiliated with Hillel International.

Santa Barbara Hillel exists to enrich student lives so they may enrich our community, the Jewish people, and the world. Santa Barbara Hillel enables students to connect with one another in a Jewish environment at their “Jewish Home Away From Home.” We offer a safe, welcoming, and pluralistic presence as a vibrant center of student life in Isla Vista. p for our students, building bridges, and fostering a positive campus climate. Santa Barbara Hillel is uniquely positioned to reach students at this formative time in their lives by providing them with the tools they need to help create the Jewish future. Students here primarily attend University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) and Santa Barbara City College (SBCC), and we are affiliated with a world-wide organization of Jewish college students.

What’s up everyone! I’m Daniel and I am your new Springboard innovation fellow. I’m originally from Seattle, WA and went to college at the University of Connecticut. I love Sports, music, summer camp and being outside!

I studied abroad in Florence, Italy for a semester

Spotlighting Lives of Leadership, Community, & Connection 

This year, Santa Barbara Hillel is proud to honor Lindsay & Joe Pasternack at our 2026 Hall of Fame Celebration alongside Rabbi Evan & Lori Goodman and Richard Leib.

Lindsay Pasternack is being honored for her longstanding commitment to Jewish communal leadership and volunteerism. Joe Pasternack is being recognized for his leadership, mentorship, and lasting impact on UCSB students and student athletes as the Head Coach of UCSB Men’s Basketball.

Their energy, generosity, and dedication continue to make a meaningful impact at UCSB and throughout the Santa Barbara Jewish community.
