Presidents’ Day invites us to think about how leaders are shaped before they ever hold office. Many U.S. Presidents were Freemasons, not because Masonry creates politicians, but because it emphasizes character, self-improvement, and service to others.

Long before campaigns and speeches, these men were taught that leadership begins with integrity, responsibility, and respect for those around you. Those ideas still matter today.

Over the past few days, we had the opportunity to deliver our food pantry donations in person. At our November meeting, we voted to support five local food pantries, and it’s always meaningful to see firsthand how these contributions help our community.

Proud of the good work our lodge continues to do and the impact we’re able to make together. Merry Christmas to all and best wishes for a happy holiday season!

There will also be complimentary hot chocolate, coffee and water available, along with hot sausage and hot dogs for sale.

Donations for Westmoreland Food Bank (canned goods or financial contributions) will be accepted inside.

Sunday, on Westmoreland Community Connections, you’ll hear all about The Annual Light Up Norwin Parade! The event is Thursday, November 20 and this year it is going to be bigger than ever - pre-parade entertainment, three marching bands, and of course, Santa Claus! Rotary President Matt Williams talks about the collaboration with the Shidle Lodge for the makings of an unforgettable event! Listen Sunday at 7am and 11pm on WHJB FM’s Westmoreland Community Connections.

Shidle Lodge No. 601 is proud to be one of the presenters of Light Up Norwin on November 20. We’ll be collecting canned goods and nonperishable food items at the lodge to support our local food banks. In this season of giving, let us remember those who need help the most.
