The Village Improvement Association (VIA) is an all-volunteer organization. We utilize the resources of the town and its citizens to improve the overall beauty, ambiance, character, and cultural vitality. The VIA manages the vast majority of the landscaping in the Village of Irvington, as well as all the lovely flower pots you see around town. The goal of the VIA is to bring the community together
through annual events such as our Farmers Market, Boot Sale, Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, the United States Air Force Bands, as well as other concerts held on the Historic Irvington Commons. All the events that the VIA sponsors are family-friendly and open to everyone. Throughout the Village of Irvington, we function as a resource for volunteerism in support of the VIA mission. We serve as a community catalyst for the purpose of achieving a higher quality of life for the residents, friends, and neighbors of Irvington, Va. The VIA meets monthly from April to December and we gladly welcome anyone. You can also see what we're up to on our website at https://irvingtonvia.com. The monthly event that really keeps us on our toes from May to November is the Irvington Farmers Market, sponsored by the VIA and consistently voted one of the very best Farmers Market on Virginia's East Coast by Virginia Living Magazine. Amazing musicians join us at each and every market throughout the season. The Irvington Farmers Market has the greatest vendors with fabulous produce, cut flowers, and homemade bakery products. We have artisan cheeses, meats, and seafood. You'll find handmade crafts of all kinds ~ soaps, clothing, furniture, jewelry, glassware, baskets, fabulous artwork, and MORE! And don't forget the food trucks! We typically see the Northern Neck Master Gardeners, the Audubon Society, Northern Neck Partners For Pets, and Oyster Gardeners. In addition to our award-winning Farmers Market, the VIA sponsors MANY other events throughout the year. Information regarding those events will be posted on this page as well as our VIA website. Some of our other events include our annual Car Boot Sale, the incredible Heritage of America Air Force Band concerts, Parades, a spooky fun Halloween Trunk or Treat, and the AMAZING Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot.
