The father in this story loved his suffering son desperately, and he believed in Jesus' power to heal. Yet he was honest enough to admit that doubt still tugged at his heart. He confessed his belief through tears, even as he pleaded for help with the doubt that still clung to him. Notice what Jesus did not do: He did not scold the man or send him away.

He healed the boy anyway. Like this father, your faith will not always feel perfect or unshakable. There will be days when you trust God fully and days when questions creep in. Take heart—Jesus understands your weaknesses completely, and He is not offended by your honesty. He warmly invites you to bring Him your doubts, just as they are, and to ask for His help in strengthening the faith that wavers.

THINK ABOUT IT

The king of Egypt held the power of life and death, and his command was monstrous: every newborn Hebrew boy was to be killed. The midwives had every earthly reason to obey—their own lives hung in the balance. Yet they quietly refused. Scripture gives the reason in just a few words: they "feared God." Their reverence for the Lord ran deeper than their fear of the king, and so they chose to protect life even at terrible risk.

Notice that their courage was not the absence of fear; it was fear rightly ordered. They were afraid—but they were more afraid to disobey God than to disobey a throne. You may face a moment when doing right costs you something, when the safe choice and the faithful choice point in opposite directions. In that moment, let your reverence for God be the louder voice. He sees, He remembers, and He honors quiet obedience

So the next time you catch yourself measuring your life against someone else's, or replaying a goal you didn't quite reach, turn to this verse and let it speak louder than your self-criticism. Jesus sees you.

He sees every perfectly imperfect part of you—the regrets, the unfinished places, the things you'd rather hide—and He loves you still. But His sight goes further than that. He also sees the person He created you to become, and even now He is patiently helping you grow into her. You are not a failed project; you are a beloved work in progress. Be as gentle with yourself as the One who made you is. Rest in a love that already knows everything and stays.
