Old Kit Cemetery Association Old Kit Cemetery dates back to 1896 when D.C. Britain deeded the land for the cemetery. Old Kit Cemetery Association was established in 1947.

A traveling family was in need of a place to bury their child who had passed from being ill.

Our little cemetery continues to be in need. We keep the grass mowed and keep the trash picked up. We make sure the trees are attended to when there is a safety issue. Now some of you consider this "perpetual' care. It's maintenance, and we are doing our very best and on a regular basis. This isn't free. The cost of mowing is $225. Make that several times a year. We are a donation only cemetery. We do not receive $225 a month in donations. In going back over the records, we know that many of you who used to provide donations are no longer doing so.
We have markers leaning, broken, and falling over? Do any of these belong to your family? If so, let us know and we'll gladly meet you at the cemetery and walk your plots. We do so appreciate those of you who regularly visit your loved ones and place flowers on their graves. Please make sure we have your name, number, and email address.

Our next meeting is Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Ben F. Brown's Funeral Home at 11a. All are welcome We will be discussing donations, paying for marker repairs, accepting nominations for officer positions for the term January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2028. If any of this is of interest to you, we urge you to come to our meeting and give your input.

Don’t forget this coming Saturday, May 16, at 11 am there will be a get together in OLD KIT CEMETERY with free food and drinks. There will be plot books to find graves of loved ones.

Old Kit Cemetery, Inc will hold its quarterly meeting, April 25, 11 am, Browns Funeral Home.

We are always hopeful more of our members will attend these very important meetings.

We have counted at least twenty flowers placed this last month. Thank you for your faithfulness to your loved ones.

Also, don’t forget your donations go to our monthly maintenance costs.

I couldn’t get to them all but I’ll post one at a time and if know how to contact a member of the families, please let us know. Our cemetery is quite active as of late and it’s much appreciated. We are trying to keep a serene, park like place to honor your loved ones.

Went out to the cemetery today and it looks like a park. We have quite a few more flowers placed; if it was you, thank you. We are still in need of donations. Several of the Markers are leaning and we’ll need to get them uprighted. Those things are not in our budget.
