The Irving Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency ambulance service from 12 stations around the city. The department is staffed by 317 full-time personnel and handl

es more than 28,598 calls, 14,969 fire responses, and 13,629 EMS responses annually. The Fire command vehicles are equipped with the City’s geographical information system that gives crews immediate access to essential information such as floor plans, fire protection systems and hazardous storage areas. The City’s emergency transport system provides advanced life support services with state-of-the- art emergency medical equipment and professional paramedic staffing. Irving Fire Department has a cardiac survival rate which is double the national average.
